I have been in the travel industry for 14 years and own my own agency. Of all the many places I have traveled to, the Society Islands which encompass Moorea, Bora Bora, & Tahiti remain my favorite. These names evoke a wonderful state of mind, seducing honeymooners, romantics, adventurers and vacationers looking for escape.

I have been asked many times what is your favorite destination and without hesitation I would have to say Tahiti. The beauty of these islands is captivating. Watching the sunset on the “Sea of the Moon” (the body of water that lies between Tahiti & Moorea)or snorkeling off of a Motu (tiny inlet in a lagoon) watching the stingrays gliding by below while making your way toward the reef that surrounds the lagoon and hearing the pounding of the waves as they break over the reef. I have experienced these things and they will remain as fond memories of my many travels.

There are many ways to experience these islands. From the overwater bungalows that are unlike any other hotel room you’ve stayed in before, these thatched-roof bungalows are perched above the turquoise lagoon waters and they offer a glass floor or coffee table where you can watch the tropical fish swim in the crystal clear water.

A wide variety of cruise products set sail in these romantic isles. My three favorites and the ones I would recommend are Star Clippers, Princess Cruises and Paul Gauguin.

The Star Clipper Sailing ships are for the more adventure seeking and can sail into places that are unique. Princess has a comfortable and mid-priced ship that has all the special features you would expect from a cruise line and Paul Gauguin is the most luxurious and is a real all-inclusive product.

Tahiti is known for it's black pearls, and I have a beautiful black pearl that my husband purchased for me for our anniversary while in Bora Bora. It is one of my prized possessions.
