About Me:
I have been promoting, selling, and writing about travel since 1998 and in that time, I have received training as a Certified Specialist with Norwegian Cruise Lines, as a Cancun specialist, as a small ship specialist with Cruise West, and as an Ireland specialist with the Irish tourist board. I have traveled extensively myself throughout the United States, Canada including Vancouver and Victoria, B.C., Ontario, Quebec, the Maritimes, and Newfoundland and Labrador. I have also spent time in Mexico City and Cuernavaca, Mexico, in Ireland, England (I lived in London), Wales, Scotland, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, the Netherlands, and Greece. I have visited Poland, the Bahamas, Bermuda, and Puerto Rico. In December, I will spend two weeks in Argentina, Uruguay, the Falkland Islands, and Chile.
I love travel, and I love helping people with their travel arrangements. I go out of my way to help people find just the right accommodations, and the most interesting excursions in their destinations. I think that is what makes me unique. I will go the extra mile, so you don't have to. You will get suggestions from me about itineraries as you travel, as well as places to visit, restaurants, and more.
If you make me your travel agent, you will not have to worry about any aspect of your trip. I don't book trips that I would not take myself, and if you ask me why, I will tell you. There are some places that are too exploited, too environmentally fragile, or simply too unfriendly toward tourists. The word I think of is "mindfulness." I want to be mindful of the people who live in the place where I am visiting, and how they see it, how they want it to be. I want to be mindful of the environment and what travel, especially particular types of travel and travelers, does to an ecosystem.
You and I are probably very much the same. We want to see the planet we live on, to appreciate its beauty, and to meet people from other cultures. I love taking back ideas and implementing them in my own home and life: home decorations, music, food, clothing, books, language and more. I want to do that without messing the planet up even more. If I think you want those same things, then you and I are a good match as client and travel agent.
