Tips

We want you to get the most out of the leads you buy from Tripology.com, so to help you succeed we have developed Eleven Essential Tips on how to effectively work with your potential customers. Keep these in mind each time you purchase a lead and you will convert more leads into customers.

  1. 1. Be selective — Save Time
Respond to those leads that interest you and which you can fulfill. The buyer does not know which businesses have received their request and will not know if you choose to delete a lead.
    • Remember the consumers are expecting to be matched to someone that specializes in either their destination or type of trip. If you purchase a lead for something that you do not specialize in there is a greater chance the consumer will not book with you.
  2. 2. Create a Compelling Profile - Show Professionalism
A link to your profile will be sent to every consumer we connect you with. So make sure your business description is complete and up-to-date, including information such as years in business, expertise, credentials etc. Your personal statement is your opportunity to make yourself market your services to the customer.
    • Make sure that you have eliminated any Typo's and do not type in all CAPS.
    • Make sure to have a photo on your profile – It increases your profile's look of professionalism
    • Be sure have the correct spacing in paragraphs!
  3. 3. Personalize the Email Message
An informative personalized introductory email is really important. This is the consumer's first impression of you. This is your chance to sell your services and prove you are the best choice for their itinerary. Important tips for your introductory email:
    • Include information about the trip request
    • Prove you are the expert
    • Why you are the most qualified for this itinerary
    • Provide some ideas based on their Trip Request
    • Do not direct them to your website to shop around.
    • Make sure to have a photo on your profile – makes the email look more professional
    • Do not just send the text Tripology provides!
    • If you are sending the same email to every lead you are not including enough personalized information!
  4. 4. Respond Promptly
Respond as soon as possible. They have submitted a trip request and are anxious to start their trip planning.
    • Don't send them an Auto-response that you will get back to them within 48 hours – they are going to choose an agent that has availability to help them and answer their questions right away (You want their business they are not competing for yours!)
  5. 5. Respond in Multiple Ways
We advise that to improve your response and conversion rates, and avoid spam filters you use our contact form to send an introductory email.
    • You should then follow-up with a second email from your own account.
    • If the lead offers a phone number be sure to respect the different time zones and only call during reasonable hours
  6. 6. Follow up -- Staying in Touch is Crucial
Don't rely on the consumer to get back to you!
    • Follow-up with a phone call or another email with more information regarding their trip request.
    • If you promise quotes and sample itineraries – send them
    • Don't let more than 24 hours go before you contact the consumer again, until you know if they are going to book with you or not and whether , if they are make sure to keep them updated on what you are doing for their itinerary and then let them know when you will be in contact again
    • Don't leave them wondering what is going on!
  7. 7. Offer Them Good Service and Friendship
One of the benefits of working with a travel agent is you have someone that you trust that you can turn to. Remember this is something you can offer that an internet booking engine cannot.
    • Build their trust by asking them questions and getting to know them
    • Be flexible with their needs
    • Be sure to be willing to work on their schedule and be available to answer their questions
    • Let them know how they will benefit from booking with you and how working with you can improve his or her trip
  8. 8. Offer References Before They Ask
Working with a travel agent may seem foreign to some consumers – even though they have expressed interest to do so
    • Help to build their trust by offering references before they ask.
  9. 9. Become a Resource
It's no secret that due to the internet consumers have access to more information than ever. Prove to them that you can offer them either firsthand knowledge or cut their necessary research time down to next to nothing.
    • Try to answer their questions before they can ask them!
  10. 10. Be Aware of Differences in Price
Remember that the consumer is probably going to check your pricing with another source. Not to many people buy anything without referencing the price ahead of time – especially when there is a significant amount of money involved. Make sure to let the consumer know why your price might be lower or higher than another source.
    • Stress the value in going one way versus another and saving $50
    • It would probably be beneficial to give them two prices with explanations of the pros and cons of each!
  11. 11. Remember Each Lead is Unique
No two clients are alike. Do what you can to feel each client out in terms of their travel style and their expectations with working with you. Try to work within their style.
    • Figure out if they want a daily update on your progress with their trip request or if they would rather just hear from you when you are finished.
    • Remember some consumers take longer to decide then others. Not all leads are going to book right away. Many agents have reported that they had just about given up on a lead only to be surprised a week later with the consumer calling to finalize the booking.
