Cruise The Nile For A Motel 6 Price
09/24/2007 12:09 p.m.
It may seem impossible but for the average nightly cost of a room at the local Motel 6, you can lounge on an opulent floating hotel, watching the ancient splendours of the Nile River passing by.
While you lounge on your palatial ship sipping your frosty drink, you can watch the people of the Nile River working the fields with wooden ploughs pulled by donkeys and living in mud brick homes the way they did thousands of years ago. The overlay of ancient culture and modern sophistication is a once in a lifetime experience you will not soon forget.
The best way to experience the Pharaonic Antiquities of Upper Egypt is by asking your travel agent to book you on one of these cruises which are conducted on spectacular and elegant small cruise ships with all the amenities and luxuries to be found on the larger ocean going vessels, such as small swimming pools, hot tubs, exercise rooms, nightclubs, good restaurants, stores and even small libraries. The meals on Nile River cruises are right up to the standard of the huge cruise ships, with delectable hot and cold buffets available nearly around the clock. Many of the larger ships have a disco or even live entertainment, plus a variety of nightly shows which can include cocktail parties, Nubian shows, belly dancers and whirling dervish acts.
The locks on the Nile River close due to water levels around the middle of April, therefore the preferred dates for Nile River cruising are between October and early April. During this time the climate is a bit cooler than the blazing heat of midsummer and the locks are all open. Most Nile River cruises operate all year round due to a very creative arrangement. If the locks are closed, cruise operators will arrange to have one ship on either side of the locks, and simply transfer the passengers from one to another!
Most Nile River cruises last between 3 and 7 nights, with the weeklong voyages travelling all the way up to Dendra. These cruises can also be booked in by your travel agent as part of a longer 14 day excursion tour of Egypt which will allow you to see the pyramids, museums and grandeur of Cairo and maybe even spend a couple of days in a spectacular Red Sea resort hotel. If you carefully choose off season rates, you can experience the Nile so inexpensively you will ask your travel agent to reconfirm the fare since you won't believe it could possibly be so low!
