Partying At Cologne's Hottest Night Spots
09/28/2007 01:09 p.m.
Travel agents can show you that Cologne is a favorite European tourist destination thanks to its rich culture, art, music, architecture, nightlife, celebrations, wild life and last but most certainly not least its world-renowned ales, beers and lagers. Cologne holds the title for having more breweries than any other city in the world, thus it is a natural for the title of one of the best party capitals anywhere in the world.
There is much to do in Cologne during those times of the day when you don't want to engage in partying. The city’s world famous zoo features almost 8,000 animals which can be found roaming in huge areas designed to simulate their natural habitat. Almost every type of majore species can be found at the Cologne Zoo, among them elephants, bears and some of the larger of the world’s cats.
Sightseeing is a great pleasure in Cologne as the Romanesque and Dom churches and the 1920s skyscraper, the Hansahochhaus, proudly display just how intricate the architecture of this unique city can be. However, entertainment options are paramount in Cologne and the city offers a packed calendar of productions in a dazzling number of venues. Many international star performers can be seen at the Kölnarena and if you can arrange through your travel agent to be in this city during the time of the Carnival, you will most certainly be swept away by the sheer infectious energy of the non stop action that this annual event is well known for.
Cologne is a hard rockin' party capital even on dates outside the Carnival. One of the most frequented night spots is the Stadtgarten on Venloer Strasse which is a local favorite to dance the night away to live music, regional and touring bands and varied performers. For really funky action, head to the E-Werk on the Schanzenstrasse which is a huge concert hall and dance club which is located within an old electrical facility. This is the place to be for all night pounding beats that usually don't stop until dawn. Staying on the industrial theme, Fame on Auenweg is an industrial center dance club which is packed to the rafters with really hardcore techno and house dance fans. The music is earsplittingly loud and that suits the clientele just fine as they absorb some of the most cutting-edge Neo-Euro sounds.
Das Ding is a super hot spot located north of the city center in the bustling Ring district. You'll find a spectrum of locals and tourists all here to catch the amazing vibes. Arkadia on the Friesenstrasse is just as red hot and it is also decorated in the color. The walls, sofas and just about everything else at Arkadia is a sizzling erotic red, and the dance floor is usually shoulder to shoulder with locals and visitors dancing to the hard driving beats through the night and into the morning. If you want to join this amazing action in Cologne, contact your travel agent today.
