Detailed Trip Description

An ideal safari for those who want to combine Kenya and Tanzania! It includes the cosmopolitan city of Nairobi, the famous Masai Mara, The Great Rift Valley and its lakes, Amboseli situated at the foothills of the highest mountain in Africa – Mount Kilimanjaro, with its herds of elephants, Ngorongoro Crater where some of the world’s last black rhino’s are sheltered, Manyara famous for its birdlife,tree climbing lions and Zanzibar where the gentle smell of spices still wafts through the island. Each landscape offers unique landscapes, wildlife and culture.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - Nairobi

 
Welcome to Nairobi.

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, after disembarking from the aircraft, you clear customs and immigration formalities. You will be met and assisted by a representative and are transferred to your Nairobi Hotel which is situated within the city center.

Relaxation

The day is at leisure.

Day 2 - Kenya

 
Masai Mara.
Safari

Traverse the Rift Valley and ascend its western rim into the Masai land. Red-clad, with spear Masai warriors tend their herds of cattle among the wildlife, admirably unmoved by the presence of large predators. Afternoon game drive in search of wildlife.

Day 3-4 - Kenya

Morning and afternoon game drives in this spectacular game reserve, all with superb photographic opportunities. The most spectacular feature is the annual migration of wildebeest, such as zebras and gazelles, from the plains of Serengeti that cross the Tanzanian border and rivers to reach the Mara’s grasslands. They are tracked by predators: lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and circled by vultures as the journey unfolds. Apart from the seasonal migration, game viewing is excellent year round. Game includes: elephant, Black Rhino, buffalo, wildebeest, Burchell’s zebra, hartebeest, various antelope and gazelle, lions, leopards, giraffes, elephants, cheetahs, hippos, crocodiles, and much more.

Day 5 - Kenya

 
Lake Naivasha.
Sightseeing

Breakfast at your lodge and proceed to Lake Naivasha – the highest and purest of the Great Rift Valley lakes. Lunch at the Club.

Safari

Today afternoon, you can take an optional boat trip on the lake. This area is famous for its birdlife – a breeding ground for pelicans, fish, eagles, cormorants, and more. You will also find other animals such as hippos, zebras antelopes, and colobus monkeys.

Day 6 - Amboseli

 
Food and Dining

Today you drive to Nairobi to arrive in time for lunch at the famous Carnivore Restaurant.

National Parks

Continue to Amboseli National Park situated at the foothills of the Majestic Mount Kilimanjaro – the highest mountain in Africa.

Day 7 - Amboseli

 
Safari

Morning and afternoon game drives to view wildlife against the backdrop of Mt Kilimanjaro. The park offers a wide variety of wildlife but the principal attraction is its vast herds of elephant within the park. The bull elephants here have some of the largest tusks in Kenya. Other game includes: zebra, wildebeest, giraffes, impalas, leopards, caracals and serval cat species. The park boasts a rich bird life such as ibis, egrets, avocets, common and saddle-billed storks, secretary birds, herons, vultures, ducks, and geese.

Day 8 - Kenya

 
Ngorongoro.
Private Car Service

After breakfast drive to the border post of Namanga where you will clear the immigration formalities, and drive to Arusha for lunch.

Sightseeing

Continue through the Ngorongoro Highlands to your lodge situated on the rim of the crater. The crater covers over 250 square kilometres (over 100 square miles) of land and is the home of the rare black rhino, prides of lion, elephants, cheetahs, great herds of buffalo, antelopes, and wildebeest.

Day 9 - Kenya

 
Ngorongoro.
Sightseeing

Today you will descend 600m (0ver 2000 feet) to the floor of the crater for a full day crater tour with picnic lunch.

Safari

Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkeys and elephants, and the lake area where you may see the flamingos and the open savannah where the lions hunt for food.

Day 10 - Lake Manyara

 
Safari

Breakfast at your lodge. Drive to Lake Manyara famous for its prolific birdlife and other inhabitants such as hippos, monkeys, and tree climbing lions. Lunch at your lodge. This afternoon you will drive down for a game drive.

Day 11 - Zanzibar

 
Commercial Flight

Breakfast at your lodge and depart for Arusha. Catch your scheduled flight to Zanzibar.

Zanzibar invokes so many different images for so many different people – history, culture, romance, etc. This ancient island was once ruled by sultans of Oman; pirates and explorers considered it their stepping stone into the African Interior. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 12 - Zanzibar

 
Sightseeing

Breakfast at your hotel. Today you will go on a half day spice tour . The guided tour of Spice is sure to sharpen your senses! Drive through the countryside to visit the spice plantations with an opportunity to pick, smell and savour exotic fruits and spices.

Breakfast at your hotel. Today your day is at leisure to laze around the pool or explore the narrow streets on your own.

Breakfast at your hotel. Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
