In this Canadian Aviation Enthusiasts Tour, we will explore many aviation museums and air bus factory in U.K. & France.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - Toronto

 
Commercial Flight

Depart Toronto Pearson Airport, Terminal 1 on AC858 at 10:55 pm


Day 2 - London

 

Arrive London Heathrow Airport, Terminal 3 at 11:10 am. We will be met by our UK Tour Manager. Transfer by deluxe motor coach to the hotel.

Food and Dining

Remainder of the day at leisure. Welcome dinner at the Arts Restaurant at our hotel at 7:00 pm.

Hotel : Stay at Ramada Jarvis Hyde Park Hotel.


Day 3 - London

 
Museums

Depart hotel at 8:30 am for Imperial War Museum (IWM), Duxford Arrive at IWM at 10:00 am. The group will be met by our Tour Guide: David Lee (Duxford Tour Director)) We will start our tour at the original Guardroom. Our coach will tour us around the site during which we will learn about Duxford’s history and visit the following four exhibition halls: 1.) The Operations Room from where Duxford’s fighters were directed into combat during the critical summer months of 1940 which became known as the Battle of Britain. A sound recording recreates an attack on Duxford which took place during the Battle. 2.) Hangar 4 – The Battle of Britain and HomeFront Exhibition displayed in a listed First World War hangar. Exhibits include a Spitfire, Hurricane and Messerschmitt 109, plus many others. 3.) Hangar 5 – The Restoration Hangar. Here the museum repairs and conserves its aircraft collection prior to display elsewhere. If you like to see aircraft being worked on, this is a must. 4.) The incredible AirSpace Exhibition which was officially opened in July 2007. Redeveloped from the former Hangar 1 to house Duxford’s unique British and Commonwealth aircraft collection including Concorde, Lancaster, Spitfire and TSR2.

Museums

Lunch (will be on your own) In the afternoon, there are two more exhibitions to view (see below). Or, you can retrace your steps to the morning’s exhibits if you want more time in any of those halls. The American Air Museum – a stunning design by Lord Foster which is the Museum’s tribute to the 30,000 American airmen who died flying from British bases during the Second World War. Many of the aircraft on display, including the B-52 and the SR-71 Blackbird, are the only examples to be seen in Europe. The Land Warfare Hall – An exceptional display of authentic battlefield scenes featuring over 100 military vehicles including Field Marshal Lord Montgomery’s campaign caravans.

Depart IWM for hotel at approximately 5:00 pm Evening at leisure.


Day 4 - Farnborough

 
Sightseeing

Depart hotel at 8:00 am for the Farnborough Air Show Arrive at Farnborough at approximately 10:00 am – upon arrival you will have the opportunity to visit the static display of aircraft before taking your seat in the grandstand for the Farnborough Air Show http://www.farnborough.com/Attractions/DailyFlying.aspx

Hotel

Depart for hotel at 6:00 pm. Arrive approximately by 8:00 pm. Evening at leisure.


Day 5 - Hendon

 
Museums

Depart hotel at 9:00 am for RAF Museum, Hendon (North London) Arrive at RAF Museum at 10:00 am. We will be met by our Museum Tour Guide and given a private tour of the museum.

Food and Dining

At 12:30 pm we will stop for a private lunch at Wings Restaurant with a WWII pilot as guest speaker during lunch.

Museums

Resume our private museum tour, with an English tea at 4:00 pm.

Hotel

Depart for hotel at approximately 5:00 pm. Evening at leisure.


Day 6 - Toulouse

 
Sightseeing

Day at leisure to explore London.

Commercial Flight

Depart hotel at 5:00 pm for London Gatwick Airport, North Terminal Arrive at 6:00 pm; check in with British Airways. Depart London Gatwick on BA 7955at 8:10 pm Arrive Toulouse at 10:50 pm.

We will be met by our English speaking France Tour Manager and transferred to the Hotel. During the transfer, the guide will welcome you to Toulouse and help with information about the hotel, currency and your itinerary.

Hotel : Stay at Grand Hotel de l’Opera.


Day 7 - Toulouse

 
Sightseeing

Depart 9:45 am for our tour of the Airbus Factory Arrive at approximately 10:15 am and at 10:45 am we will commence our tour of A380 production (using our motorcoach) The tour begins in the "boarding room" with a presentation of the A380 programme. After visiting the outside of the Jean Luc Lagardère site by bus, we will enter the main building and from a viewing platform, discover the general test stations, the outside testing areas and an overall view of the entire site. A380 tour ends at 12.15 pm. Lunch on your own.

Sightseeing

Continue tour of A330 & A340 production. After leaving the reception area and driving around Toulouse-Blagnac runways, we will proceed to Jean-Luc Lagardère hall to see the assembly process of the A380. From a sight-seeing platform,we can see the general tests stations, the outside testing areas and a general view of the entire site. A380 tour ends at 12:15 pm Lunch is on your own and can be taken at the on-site restaurant Continue our tour of A330 & A340 production (using our coach). After leaving the reception area, a tour around the airport by bus will allow you to see air traffic on the runways and the new Airbus Delivery Centre. Then, after a tour of the Clément Ader site (including the unloading facilities for the A300-600 ST "Beluga") you will enter the plant and access a viewing platform overlooking the final assembly line of the long-haul A330, A340, A340-500/600 aircraft. Tour ends at 3:00 pm and return to the hotel.

Food and Dining

Remainder of day is at leisure. Farewell dinner at the hotel restaurant at 7:00 pm


Day 8 - Paris

 
Museums

Check out and depart hotel at 9:30 am for Ailes Anciennes Toulouse Museum Arrive museum at 10:00 am. We will be met by Sylvain Dupouy, Museum Director 12:30 pm.

Commercial Flight

Transfer to airport and check in for flight. Lunch at leisure Depart on Air France on flight AF7787 at 3:55 pm. Arrive Charles de Gaulle Airport, Terminal 2F at 5:25 pm.

We will be met by our English speaking French guide and transferred by coach to the Hotel.

Hotel

Hotel : Hilton CDG Airport Hotel. Evening at leisure.


Day 9 - Paris

 
Commercial Flight

Transfer at 9:00 am to Paris Charles de Gaulle Terminal 2A. Check in at the Air Canada counter at 9:30 am. Depart Paris on AC881 at 11:40 am. Arrive Toronto at 2:05 pm.
