Detailed Trip Description
The history of India dates back almost five thousand years, and Rajasthan plays a crucial and unique role. This is a land of the legends of heroism and romance that still resound from its cities to village, from the forts, palaces, havelis, streets, that stand to narrate its tale of a bygone era. The magic of Rajasthan is unequalled in the world for its heritage, culture, safaris, sand dunes, and lush green forests with its wildlife all of which one will experience on this tour. This tour moves first to Mandawa and then Bikaner, which are small rural towns filled with local havelis that are waiting to be explored. We will then go to Jaislamer, situated right in the middle of the desert after which we travel to Osian, the camel camp where one visits the local potters and weavers on camelbacks. The next two stops are Jodhpur and Udaipur famous for their forts and palaces. The tour then covers wildlife areas Sitamata Sanctuary and Sawai Madhopur, famous for their tiger population. Along the way we also stop over at Chittorgarh, Kota, Bundi, and Jaipur , which are all rich in their heritage and culture. We end at Agra, city of the Taj Mahal, where one can feel the majestic aura of this beautiful monument.
Trip Itinerary
Day 1 - Delhi
Arrive Delhi.
Traditional welcome on arrival at Delhi international airport and transfer to hotel.
Day 2 - Delhi
Historical and Educational Tours
After breakfast, we will have a guided tour of the historic city of Delhi. Delhi is the city where one can experience the influence of the many rulers who ruled this region; it was built and destroyed and re-built over seven times. The guided tour takes to the monuments that depict the different eras. The tour includes the magnificent Red Fort, the Jama Masjid, Asia's largest mosque, Rajghat, the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi - the "Father of the Nation".
Sightseeing
Afternoon tour of New Delhi which includes the Humanyun Tomb, Birla Mandir, Bahai Temple, Qutab Minar, India Gate, President's House, and a drive through Connaught Place.

Evening, see Son-et-Lumerie at Red Fort.

Day 3 - Delhi
Delhi - Mandawa (250kms/ 5 hrs).

Evening free at leisure to visit the local havelis and forts in Mandawa.

Day 4 - Bikaner
Mandawa - Bikaner (190 kms / 4 hrs).

Breakfast at hotel. Then drive to Bikaner. Check in hotel. Later, half-day guided sightseeing of various Havelis & palaces of the Rajput era

Day 5 - Jaisalmer
Bikaner – Jaisalmer (325 kms / 6.5 hrs).

Breakfast. Later, drive to Jaisalmer. Enjoy the drive viewing the lovely life of the deserted land, passing through the villages.
Sightseeing
Evening, enjoy camel ride to the Sam Sand Dunes in the desert city of Rajasthan. Arrive Jaisalmer by late evening.

Day 6 - Jaisalmer
Sightseeing
Breakfast at hotel. Then, full day guided city sightseeing visiting the Jaisalmer Fort, Jain Temple, Gadsisar Tank, Folk Museum, Patwan Ki Haveli, Salim Singh ki Haveli, Diwan Nathmal ki Haveli, Badal Vilas Palace and evening walk through narrow cobbled streets.

Day 7 - Jaisalmer
Jaisalmer – Osian (240 kms / 5 hrs).
Safari
Breakfast. Drive to Osian, the camel camp in the Thar desert. Enjoy a camel safari to nearby oasis village Khetasar (2.30 hrs ride).
Sightseeing
One also visits the local potter, weavers, Bishnois huts along the Safari route.
Private Car Service
On reaching Khetasar the guests are brought back to camp in 4 wheel drive Jeeps.

Overnight at the camp.
Food and Dining
The evening is spent at the camp with folk entertainment followed by a sit down dinner.
Day 8 - Jodhpur
Osian – Jodhpur (65 kms / 1.5 hrs).
Sightseeing
Breakfast. Drive to Jodhpur, the capital of the Marwar State. A full day guided sightseeing tour of the city, which includes: Mehrangarh Fort, Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jaswant Thada and Mandore Garden.
Shopping
Evening free to explore the tiny shops in the narrow lanes of the city.

Day 9 - Udaipur
Jodhpur – Udaipur (260kms / 5 hrs).
Sightseeing
After breakfast, drive to Udaipur. Enroute stopover at Ranakpur, to visit the famous Jain temples. The City of Dawn, surrounded by the ancient Aravali Mountains and set on the edge of three lakes, is a brilliant kaleidoscope of narrow lanes flanked by bright stalls, gardens, lakes, palaces and temples.

Enjoy day on the banks of the Lake Pichola or at the numerous shops that dot the narrow windings streets of Udaipur.

Day 10 - Udaipur
Sightseeing
After breakfast, full day guided sightseeing of the city including City Palace, Jagdish Temple, Saheliyon-ki-Bari and a excursion to Eklingi, famous for its Jain temples.

Day 11 - Udaipur
Udaipur – Dungarpur (110 kms / 2 hrs).
Sightseeing
Breakfast. Drive to Dungarpur. Enroute stopover at the Sitamata Wildlife Sanctuary is a beautiful stretch of virgin forest, having untouched areas of countryside around it. Visit the rock carvings of the Mesolithic era, old temples and overwhelming tribal population.

Day 12 - Rajasthan
Sightseeing
Breakfast. Take a guided tour of the Juna Mahal, the Gaib Sagar Lake famous for its shrine of Shri Nathji lying along the lake and the Vijay Raj Rajeshwar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Evening free for leisure.

Day 13 - Rajasthan
Dungarpur – Chittorgarh (275 kms / 6 hrs).

Breakfast at hotel. Proceed for Chittorgarh - the well-established citadel and the capital of Mewar rulers.

Sightseeing
Then proceed on a guided tour of the Chittorgarh Fort, which stands 180 mtrs high with each stone narrating its own story.

Day 14 - Kota
Chittorgarh – Kota (250 kms / 5 hrs).

Then proceed on a guided tour of Kota, to include City Fort Palace, Museum and Jagmandir Palace.

Day 15 - Kota
Kota – Bundi – Sawai Madhopur (210 kms).
Sightseeing
Breakfast. Proceed to Bundi, for a half-day guided tour of the Taragarh Fort, Raniji-ki-Baoli, (Queen's step well) and Nagar Sagar Kund. In the afternoon drive to Sawai Madhopur.
National Parks
Evening free at the national park. Overnight at resort.
Day 16 - Jaipur
Sawai Madhopur – Jaipur (180 kms / 3.5 hrs).

Breakfast. Drive onto Jaipur - the Pink City of Rajasthan.

Upon arrival in Jaipur, transfer to the hotel to freshen up.
Sightseeing
Later, guided half-day city tour of Jaipur covering Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), City Palace, Jantar Mantar (Royal Observatory).

Day 17 - Jaipur
Sightseeing
Enjoy a royal breakfast at the hotel, followed by a guided excursion to the majestic Amber Fort - the erstwhile capital of the Kachwahas Rajputs before they moved to their newly built capital in Jaipur. This is the only fort where one can arrive on elephants just like the Maharajas used to.

Evening at leisure for enjoying the real charm of this royal city to stroll in the local bazaars to see some handicrafts and artisans.

Day 18 - Agra
Jaipur – Agra (232 kms / 4.5 hrs).
Sightseeing
Breakfast at the hotel. Then proceed to Agra via Fatepur Sikri; a World Heritage Site. Assisted by a guided tour, you will visit this world famous complex of monuments and temples that was built in a uniform architectural style. In the afternoon, we will visit the Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort. The Taj Mahal of Agra is a monument built by Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal while the Agra Fort was built by Emperor Akbar. Built with red sandstone, the Fort is a mixture of the Islamic and Hindu styles of architecture.
Day 19 - Delhi
Agra – Delhi (200 kms / 4 hrs).

After breakfast, drive to Delhi. On arrival check-in to the hotel to freshen up.
Depending on flight schedule transfer to international airport for connecting flight to onward destination.
