Detailed Trip Description
During the tour, you will visit the most popular and famous monasteries of the Ladakh region built by different rulers. In this tour you will drive to the highest motorable road in the world. Here, the landscape provides a fantastic view of the mountains. From Leh, drive down to Himachal Pradesh and visit the beautiful Kullu valley, spreading its charm on either side of the river Beas. The valley is also famous for its exquisitely woven, colourful, hand made shawls. The journey will end royally by visiting the former summer capital of the British – Shimla.
Trip Itinerary
Day 1 - Delhi
Arrive Delhi.
Traditional welcome on arrival at Delhi international airport and transfer to hotel.
Day 2 - Delhi
Sightseeing
After breakfast, guided tour of historic city of Delhi. The tour includes the magnificent Red Fort, the Jama Masjid, Asia's largest mosque, Humanyun Tomb, Birla Mandir, Qutab Minar, drive through India Gate, President’s House and Connaught Place.
Sightseeing
Evening, see Son-et-Lumerie at Red Fort.

Day 3 - Leh
Delhi – Leh.
Commercial Flight
Catch an early morning flight to Leh.
Sightseeing
On arrival at Leh airport, you will meet our representative at the airport and you will be escorted to your hotel. Breakfast at the hotel.
Sightseeing
Complete day for the acclimatization, which is 3500 mtrs above sea level.
Shopping
In the evening, you will be able to enjoy a short walk around Leh's bazaars.

Day 4 - Leh
Sightseeing
In the morning, you will have a half-day tour of Spituk and Phyang monasteries by jeeps. At the time of lunch, you will return back to hotel. In the afternoon, you will visit Kings Palace, Leh Mosque, Leh Gompa, and Leh Bazaar, by foot.

Day 5 - Leh
Leh – Khardongla Pass – Leh (85 kms).
Sightseeing
After breakfast, full day excursion to Khardongla pass, the highest motorable pass in the world (5600 meters high) and has been recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Day 6 - Leh
Leh – Pangong Lake - Leh (290 kms).

You will leave early in the morning at 05:00 A.M. to Pangong Lake through the Changla pass (5486 meters). After crossing the pass, we will halt for a picnic lunch at Tsoltak, the summer pastureland of the yaks. We will arrive Durbuk and drive to Lukung, at the western shore of the lake. We will also drive along the Pangong Lake to Spangmik, the last point allowed for tourists. This famous bluish-black Lake of Pangong is 5 to 6 kms wide and over 144 kms long, with half of it running along the other side of the Indo-China Border.
Sightseeing
In the late afternoon, we will drive back to Leh.

Day 7 - Leh
Leh – Sarchu (250 kms).
Sightseeing
We will embark on a full day drive to Sarchu via Upshi and we have to cross the second highest motorable pass in world (Taglangla Pass, 5350 mtrs). We will drive through Moreplans, where you can see tiny colonies of Marmots, Yaks, and Herbs. At Pang, we will stop for lunch and then continue the drive to Lachungla pass and arrive at Sarchu.
Camping
Tonight our camp will be at 4200 meters high and it will be the coldest night during the entire tour. Overnight in tents.
Day 8 - India
Sarchu - Jispa - Manali (256 kms).
Sightseeing
Sarchu is the borderline between Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. After a 20 km drive, we will enter into Himachal Pradesh and reach Baralachala pass. We will visit Lake Surajtal and proceed onto Darcha after Rumtze. We will drive to Khoksar, where we will stop at the checkpoint and then ascend the Rohtang pass (3978 meters) and arrive into the Manali region.

Day 9 - India
Sightseeing
Ww will stop at Manali to visit the 400 year old Pagoda Temple of Hadimba Devi and the Manu Temple.

In the afternoon, one can visit the Vaishisht hot sulphur spring bath.

Day 10 - Simla
Manali – Shimla ( 270 kms / 7 hrs).

Morning drive down the lovely hilly roads to reach the former summer capital of the British – Shimla (Simla).

Day 11 - Simla
Sightseeing
Day free at leisure to enjoy the fabulous strolling experience on the mall road, the church, the town hall or indulge in a short toy train ride from Shimla station to Kathleeghat station and back.

Day 12 - Delhi
Shimla – Delhi (220 kms / 7 hrs).
After breakfast, we will drive toward Delhi. By the evening, we will arrive Delhi and check-in to the hotel and freshen up. Later, you will be assisted and transferred to the international airport for your connecting flight to your destination.
Train
To enjoy and experience the fast express rail ride, we suggest driving down until the Kalka or Chandigarh railway station (which are about 100 kms from Shimla) and board the Shatabdi Express for Delhi.
