The Best of Kashmir brings you the most popular destinations of the Kashmir state, covering Srinagar, which is famous for its Dal Lake and Shikara rides; Sonmarg, the Meadow of Gold and Gateway to the Ladakh; Gulmarg, for its beautiful scenery and ending at Pahalgam, where most Bollywood (Indian cinema) movies are made.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - Delhi

 
Arrive Delhi.

Welcome on arrival at Delhi international airport and transfer to hotel.

Day 2 - Delhi

 
Sightseeing

After breakfast, there is a guided tour of the historic city of Delhi; it is where one can experience the influence of the many rulers who ruled this region and it was built and destroyed and re-built over seven times. The tour includes the magnificent Red Fort, the Jama Masjid, Asia's largest mosque, Humanyun Tomb, Birla Mandir, Qutab Minar, a drive through India Gate, a visit to the President’s House, and Connaught Place.

Day 3 - Srinagar

 
Delhi – Srinagar.
Commercial Flight

Breakfast at Hotel. Transfer to the domestic airport to catch a flight to Srinagar.

Sightseeing

On arrival at Srinagar, you will meet our representative and you will be transferred to the houseboat. The afternoon is free for personal activities. In the evening, you will enjoy a Shikara ride on Dal Lake to view the sunset. Overnight at Houseboat.


Day 4 - Srinagar

 
Sightseeing

Half day tour of world famous Mughal Gardens visiting the Nishat Bagh (The garden of pleasure) and Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love). Return to houseboat for hot lunch.

In the afternoon Shikara ride on the Dal Lake to enjoy the beauty that God has graced this city with which is often compared to Venice. You will get a view of some very interesting places around the Lake. Overnight at Houseboat.


Day 5 - Srinagar

 
Srinagar – Sonmarg – Srinagar (84 kms).
Sightseeing

Leave after breakfast for a 3 hours drive to Sonmarg. On the way stopover at scenic spots. Continue drive to Sonmarg 2690 mtrs (Meadow of Gold).

Optional: You may ride on horses to visit the Thajiwas Glacier, where snow remains year-round.

Day 6 - Jammu and Kashmir

 
Sonmarg - Gulmarg (139 kms).
Sightseeing

We will leave after breakfast for a 4 to 5 hour drive that will take you to Gulmarg via Srinagar. By lunch you will be at the Gulmarg. In the afternoon, you can enjoy the cable car ride from Gulmarg to Khalinmarg.

Day 7 - Jammu and Kashmir

 
Gulmarg – Pahalgam (149 kms).
Sightseeing

We will leave Gulmarg after breakfast and visit Saffron field and Avantipur ruins, which is 1100 yrs old temple, on the way. We will reach Pahalgam by lunchtime, which is the most famous place for Indian Film Industry.

Day 9 - Delhi

 
Pahalgam - Srinagar (103 kms) – Delhi.
Commercial Flight

Leave after breakfast for Srinagar Airport, which will take about 3 hours to reach the airport to connect flight onto Delhi.

On arrival in Delhi, transfer to the hotel to freshen up.

Proceed to international airport for connecting flight to onward destination.
