Detailed Trip Description
The cave of Amarnath, lying at an height of 3952 Mtrs. is a famous holy place of pilgrimage for the Hindus and is held in the same veneration as Mount Kailash in Tibet. The sacred cave contains a Shiva Lingam formed of ice, the size of which increases or decreases according to the position of the Moon. This tour is a combination of driving and trekking through this rugged terrain and test of ones skill and endurance. We drive from Srinagar to Chandanwari from where we start our 32-kms trek through the mountains to reach the cave. This is a tour not just to off reaching the Amarnath cave but the journey itself as taken by many Indian pilgrims.
Trip Itinerary
Day 1 - Delhi
Arrive Delhi.
Welcome on arrival at Delhi international airport and transfer to hotel.
Day 2 - Delhi
Sightseeing
After breakfast, you will have a guided tour of the historic city of Delhi; it is where one can experience the influence of the many rulers who ruled the region and it is a city that has been built, destroyed, and re-built over seven times. The tour includes the magnificent Red Fort, the Jama Masjid, Asia's largest mosque, Humanyun Tomb, Birla Mandir, Qutab Minar, a drive through India Gate, the President’s House, and Connaught Place.
Sightseeing
Evening, see Son-et-Lumerie at Red Fort.

Overnight at hotel.
Day 3 - Srinagar
Delhi – Srinagar.
Commercial Flight
Breakfast at Hotel. Transfer to the domestic airport to catch a flight to Srinagar.
Sightseeing
On arrival at Srinagar, you will meet our representative and you will be transferred to the houseboat. Afternoon free for personal activities. Overnight at Houseboat.
Day 4 - Srinagar
Sightseeing
Today there is a half day tour of the world famous Mughal Gardens, visiting the Nishat Bagh (The garden of pleasure) and Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love). You'll return to the houseboat for hot lunch. In the afternoon you will enjoy a Shikara ride on The Dal Lake and take in the beauty that God has graced this city with, which is often compared to Venice. Overnight at houseboat.
Day 5 - Srinagar
Srinagar – Pahalgam (93 kms- drive).
Sightseeing
Leave Srinagar by car/coach 93 kms half day drive to Pahalgam (2440 mtrs). Enroute, you will visit the Saffron fields, Avantipur ruins, and the Mattan Temple.
Sightseeing
On the way see some beautiful more villages. Pahalgam is the most famous place for Indian Film Industry. Enjoy the nature charm of the valley.

Overnight at hotel.
Day 6 - Jammu and Kashmir
Pahalgam – Chandanwari (2895 M) (16 kms drive) – Sheshnagh (12 kms trek).
Hiking
Leave after early breakfast from Pahalgam to Chandanwani by cars. You will start trekking up towards Sheshnagh, which is a 12 kms trek. It is a steep slope ascending towards Pishoo Ghati pass at 13000 feet.
Camping
Overnight in tents at Sheshnagh.
Day 7 - Jammu and Kashmir
Sheshnagh (3377 M) – Panchtarni (14 kms trek).
Hiking
Start early morning for a steep ascent upto Mahagunas (The great viper at 3377 mtrs) then an easy descend to Panchtarni situated at the foot of mount Bhairva.
Camping
Overnight in tents.
Day 8 - Jammu and Kashmir
Panchtarni (3657 M) – {Amarnath (3953 M) 6 kms trek – Baltal 4 hrs trek}.
Hiking
After breakfast, you will start a steep ascent towards the Amarnath Holy Cave where you can see Ice Lingam. This is the holy cave for Hindus and thousands of people who visit the place during days when the moon is full. From Amarnath, you will descend towards Baltal, which is a 3 to 4 hour walk.
Camping
Overnight in tents.
Day 9 - Srinagar
Baltal – Sonmarg – Srinagar (113 kms drive).
Sightseeing
From Baltal, it is 15 kms drive to Sonmarg. Sonmarg (2690 mtrs) is the most beautiful spot in the Kashmir valley. Sonmarg is known as the "Gateway of Ladakh."

Continue drive to Srinagar, which takes 3 hrs from Sonmarg.

Day 10 - Delhi
Srinagar – Delhi.
Commercial Flight
Leave after breakfast for Srinagar airport to connect flight for Delhi.
Hotel
On arrival in Delhi, transfer to the hotel to freshen up.
Proceed to international airport for connecting flight to onward destination.
