Detailed Trip Description

Join us for an unforgettable week in northern Corsica in the spring and be intoxicated by the herbal fragrance of the maquis and the crystal clear waters of a bizarre coastline. Taste the most famous wines of Corsica in Patrimonio, the fine cheeses of the Venachese and the charcuterie of Niolu. Your group holiday is of 8 participants only, for individuals or couples. You are staying in Patrimonio near the small coastal town of St.Florent, just off the Cap Corse route and 30 minutes from Bastia airport. For 7 days you will be hosted on a 1.2 hectar estate adjoining an olive grove, surrounded by magnificent hills and rocks, with panoramic views to the gulf of St. Florent. Each night a special gourmet dinner will be created by a local first class chef on the premises. The location : Saint-Florent is situated in the heart of Corsica's most famous wine region, just off the Cape Corse route and 30 minutes from Bastia airport/Bastia Poretta. Panoramic views offer a choice of amazing scenery: from the foothills of Patrimonio and its 13th century church in the hamlets of Nebbiu, over countless vineyards, gentle hillsides bathed in sunshine, to the Gulf of Saint-Florent on the immediate horizon. Enjoy the shuttle service by boat to the splendid white sandy beaches of the Agriates coast. Walk through charming St. Florent, with it's Genoise Citadel and its pastel-washed cottages backing a quayside lined with open-air restaurants and a colourful harbour packed with yachts and fishing boats. This is the perfect place to acclimatise gently to the wilder beauties of Patrimonio and the Nebbiu. Our service is to collect you and bring you to the airport at Bastia. Frequent flights are from Paris Only. Transportation will be in a luxury A/C Mercedes van. Guided tours in the cities such as Bastia are by local guides in English. Your hosts will accompany you on the country excursions with local shepherds through pine forests and beech woods, as well as the beautiful maquis with the fragrance of herbs and spring blossoms.
