During this 14 Days Tibetan Sojourn Tour, you will enjoy sightseeing and many activities in Beijing, Xining, Tibet Express Train, Lhasa, Chengdu and Shanghai. Trip Itinerary
Day 1 - Beijing
Hotel
Upon arrival, transfer to a 5* hotel for your overnight rest before starting your China adventure!
Day 2 - Beijing
Sightseeing
Today is a full day of sightseeing which includes many of this city’s highlights: Tiananmen Square, the magnificent Forbidden City, and the Summer Palace. (B, L, D)
Day 3 - Beijing
Historical and Educational Tours
Today’s excursion takes you to the Badaling section of the Great Wall of China.
Sightseeing
After that see the Ming Tombs and the statue-lined Sacred Way.
Performing Arts
In the evening enjoy a traditional Peking Duck Dinner & cultural show. (B, L, SD)
Day 4 - Xining
Beijing - Xining.
Commercial Flight
After a two hour flight to Xining.
You are transferred to your hotel.
Sightseeing
The city tour visits the Kimblum (Taer) Lamasery. It is an ancient Han building complex with a rich collection of relics.
Museums
Then look around the Provincial Museum where the museum’s archeologist will guide you.
Performing Arts
A Welcome Dinner & local cultural show concludes the day. (B, L, D)
Day 5 - Xining
Xining - Holy Train Express.
Shopping
Tour the Warlord House of General Ma Bufang & Ethnic Museum and the Xiguan Moslem Temple before embarking on the Qinghai-Tibert Railway in late afternoon.
Train
This expedition journey on the “Holy Train Express” boasts records such as the highest tracks above sea level and the longest plateau railroad in the world.
Sightseeing
Enjoy the beautiful scenery along Qinhai Lake and overnight in a soft sleeper. (B, L, D)
Day 6 - Lhasa
Holy Train Express - Lhasa.

Get up early for a breathtaking sunrise on the train. Brilliant contrasting colors lend themselves for incredible photographs! The views just get better as you pass Kunlum Mountain, the headwaters of the Yangze River at Kekexili, and other places in Northern Tibet. Stops will be made to marvel at these beauties!

Arrive in Lhasa, the “Holy City,” in the late afternoon to check-in to the best hotel in Tibet—the 5* Yaluzangbu Hotel. (B, L, D)
Day 7 - Lhasa
Sightseeing
First visit Potala Palace and later Drepung Monastery and Norbuglinkha (The Jewel Park and Summer Palace for Dalai Lhama).

Tonight enjoy dinner and a Tibet Cultural Dance Show at the Crazy Yak Restaurant. (B, L, SD)
Day 8 - Lhasa
Sightseeing
Tour the 7th century Jokhank (Dazao) Monastery and Jokang temple with its golden roofs and which houses valuable Buddhist relics.
Sightseeing
Visit the Sera Monastery also. Take some time to stroll and shop along Barkhor Street.
Food and Dining
A Tibetan Dinner at the Great Yak Restaurant tops off this day! (B, L, SD)
Day 9 - Chengdu
Lhasa - Chengdu.
Commercial Flight
A motor coach will transfer you to Gongar Airport for a two hour flight to Chengdu.
Sightseeing
In the afternoon visit historic technological wonders, Dujiangyan Dam and Irrigation System. Construction of the irrigation system began with Li Bing, King of West Sichuan in 256BC. It is amongst the world’s oldest systems in continuous use.

Overnight is in Chengdu. (B, L, D)
Day 10 - Chengdu
Sightseeing
Visit the Myth of Sanxingdui (Triple Piles Museum), one of the world’s best exhibits of ancient remains.

Then tour the Panda National Breeding
Center, created to imitate the panda’s natural habitat.

Later enjoy the local charm of the “Tea House and Pavilion of River View Garden.” (B, L, D)
Day 11 - Shanghai
Chengdu - Shanghai.
Commercial Flight
Fly to Shanghai.
Hotel
Transfer to a 4* hotel.

Day 12 - Shanghai
Sightseeing
Today’s full day city tour highlights the famous Bund, Yu Yuan Gardens, the Jade Buddha Temple, and a silk carpet factory.

Day 13 - China
Zhujiajiao.
Sightseeing
Venture into the countryside in the morning with an excursion to Zhujiajiao, a nearby river town.

Shanghai - USA.
