Detailed Trip Description
Enjoy 21 Days European Inspiration tour featuring sightseeing and many activities in Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Munich, Venice, Rome, Florence, Lucerne and Paris. Start this trip by visiting a fishing and cheese village, a cheese farm & clog maker's house in Amsterdam. Enjoy a bicycle tour of the Dutch countryside and check out the cities nightlife before heading over to Berlin where you will see the Tiergarten, Alexanderplatz, Russian War Memorial, Brandenburg Gate, historic Reichstag building and the remains of the Berlin Wall. Make your way to Munich to see the Glockenspiel & Marienplatz and visiting a beerhall after spending time in prague seeing the Hradcany Castle, the Cathedral of St. Vitus, Charles Bridge and Wenceslas Square. Visit the picturesqye area of Austrian Tyrol, which is famous for adventure sports. Take a scenic drive past vineyards, orchards & castles on Brenner Pass before getting on a private motorboat to the historic island of Venice. Once in Venice, see Piazza San Marco, Bridge of Sighs and the Doges' Palace. Check out Murano glass-blowing & Burano lace-making demonstrations before heading to Rome to see Piazza Venezia, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Colosseum & Roman Forum. Stop by St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City before seeing the Leaning Tower in Pisa. Next stop: Florence. Discover the city on a walking tour with a local guide. See the Duomo, Basilica Santa Croce, Giotto's Bell Tower, the Baptistry & Piazza della Signoria, and sit in on a Florentine leather craft demonstration. Arrive in Lucerne wher eyou will see the Wooden Chapel Bridge and head on a scenic Alpine drive. Before your final stop in Paris, you will head to Burgundy to see the Chablis & Burgundy vineyards. In Paris, enjoy an evening Tour of Illuminations and see all of the city's beautiful sites: the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, the Champs Élysées, and Notre Dame Cathedral: Paris. Before the end of the trip you will also have the opportunity to visit a French Perfumery.

London to Amsterdam.

Meet your Contiki Crew and see the White Cliffs of Dover before travelling through Belgium and into the Netherlands to Amsterdam. (Dinner)
Day 4 - Amsterdam

Visit a local cheese farm to learn how cheese and clogs are made.

Spend your free time wandering along the canals, shopping or visiting famous museums such as the Van Gogh Museum and Anne Frank's House to offer. (Breakfast)
Day 5 - Berlin
Amsterdam to Berlin.

This morning we head east and continue to Berlin, the cultural capital of Germany.

You'll have your first glimpse of the Berlin Wall.
Nightlife
Time to sample the great nightlife of this vibrant city. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day 6 - Berlin
Sightseeing
A full day of sight-seeing including the remains of the Berlin Wall, the Russian War Memorial and the Brandenburg Gate.
Museums
An opportunity to visit the "Checkpoint Charlie" museum.
Food and Dining
Tonight, why not head for town, mix with the locals and try some traditional fare? (Breakfast)
Day 7 - Prague
Berlin to Prague.
Sightseeing
Drive south through Germany and stop for lunch in Dresden. We head into the Czech Republic for two nights in Prague, the golden city built on Seven Hills across the River Vltava. ( Breakfast, Dinner )
Day 8 - Prague
Sightseeing
This morning's sightseeing tour includes Hradcany Castle, the Cathedral of St. Vitus and Wenceslas Square.
Sightseeing
Free time to explore - maybe visit the Jewish Quarter or the old town square. (Breakfast)
Day 9 - Munich
Prague to Munich.
Bus
We skip back to Germany and Bavaria's lively capital Munich - home to the Oktoberfest.
Sightseeing
Enjoy some of the sights and sounds of the city and perhaps experience the atmosphere of a local beerhall. (Breakfast)
Day 10 - Munich
Sightseeing
A relaxing day where you can explore the shops and museums of this Bavarian beauty. (Breakfast)
Day 11 - Venice
Munich to Venice.

Today we travel south through Austria and the astonishing beauty of the Brenner Pass to cross the border into Italy.

Tonight we stay on the mainland of Venice. (Breakfast, Dinner )
Day 12 - Venice
Sightseeing
A short boat ride takes us into the historical centre of Venice to see St Mark's Square, the Bridge of Sighs and the Doges' Palace.
Sightseeing
Ample time to wander the bustling streets, see the skill required to create local crafts such as Venetian glass and fine lace and visit one of the many amazing museums.
Food and Dining
Why not treat yourself to a gondola ride and evening meal with your fellow travellers as a perfect end to your Venetian experience? (Breakfast)
Day 13 - Rome
Venice to Rome.
Sightseeing
Past medieval hillside villages and through the Apennine Mountains, we travel south to the fabled Seven Hills of Rome. Do as the Romans do and stroll past the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and Piazza Navona.

A full free day to explore the treasures of Rome.

Rome to Florence.

Today we travel north and visit Pisa to see the famous Leaning Tower.

This evening your first chance to walk the streets of Renaissance Florence. (Breakfast, Dinner)

The day includes a walking tour of the Piazza della Signoria, the Duomo and Santa Croce, and a chance to shop for leather, gold and silver.

In your free time maybe visit one of the city's many museums or galleries.

Day 17 - Florence
Florence to Swiss Alps.

A spectacular drive today as we pass Lake Como before crossing the Swiss border.

A short stop in the lakeside town of Lucerne, well known for its abundance of Swiss watches, Swiss Army knives and chocolate stores before arriving into Engelberg, nestled in the Swiss Alps. (Breakfast, Dinner )
Day 18 - Switzerland
Swiss Alps.

A chance for a different perspective of the Alps today as a revolving cable car journey offers breath-taking panoramic views before reaching the summit of Mt. Titlis. Cross a glacier, play in the snow or simply marvel at the scenery.

You have free time in Engelberg this afternoon.

Tonight enjoy the nightlife in this popular resort town. ( Breakfast )
Day 19 - Paris
Swiss Alps to Paris.
Sightseeing
Through Burgundy, past Dijon's vineyards, to Paris for your first glimpse of this beautiful city. ( Breakfast, Dinner )

Visit a French perfume house and then take the opportunity to visit some of the most celebrated icons of Europe.

Paris to London.
After breakfast, there will be a transfer for you to Charles de Gaulle Airport (estimated arrival at 10:00 am) OR choose to take a complimentary transfer to central London with your Tour Manager and Driver and extend your stay. ( Breakfast )
