Day 1 - On the Plane

Board your over­night transatlantic flight.

Day 2 - London

 
Arrival In London, England.
Relaxation

After checking into your hotel, the remainder of your day is at leisure.

Day 3 - London

 
Sightseeing

Sightseeing with a local guide features Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and Buckingham Palace.

This afternoon, London is yours to explore. (B)


Day 4 - Plymouth

 
London - Stonehenge - Plymouth.
Sightseeing

Drive southwest to visit the town of Salisbury to view its Cathedral. Next is Stonehenge to visit its mysterious stone circle.

Sightseeing

On arrival in Plymouth, an orientation tour includes the Mayflower Steps, the point of departure for the Pilgrims.

Day 5 - Plymouth

 
Cornwall Excursion.
Sightseeing

Enjoy coastal views on the drive to Penzance. Next, see St. Michael's Mount, then head out for the picturesque village of St. Ives, a popular haunt for artists.

Later, return to Plymouth. (B)


Day 6 - Cardiff

 
Plymouth - Bath - Cardiff.
Sightseeing

Journey to Glastonbury to visit the Abbey ruins and see the legendary tomb of King Arthur. Then head northeast to historic Bath, where an orienta­tion tour includes a visit to the Roman Baths and a drive along the Georgian streets.

Later, cross into Wales and its capital, Cardiff.

Day 7 - Waterford

 
Cardiff - Waterford.
Sightseeing

Begin your day with a morning orientation tour of Cardiff to view its mighty Castle. Later, drive through South Wales to the port of Pembroke, where the dynasty of Henry VII of the Tudors began.

Then board a ferry and cross the Irish Sea to Rosslare, in Ireland. On arrival, it is a short drive to Waterford. (B,D)

Day 8 - Waterford

 
Waterford - Blarney - Kenmare.
Sightseeing

Your first stop today is the Waterford Crystal Showrooms. Then enjoy a scenic drive through the fishing village of Youghal and on to Cork. Next, visit Blarney Castle to acquire the “gift of the gab” by kissing the Blarney stone, before reaching pretty Kenmare. (B,D)

Day 9 - Kerry

 
Ring Of Kerry Excur­sion.
Sightseeing

Today's highlight is a drive around the “Ring of Kerry.” Plunging cliffs, shimmering lakes, wind swept mountains, and pristine beaches all form part of this photographer''s delight.

The rest of the day is at leisure to explore Kenmare with its many shops, museums and cafés. (B)


Day 10 - Galway

 
Kenmare - Limerick - Galway.
Bus

Travel via the prettiest village in Ireland, Adare, with its thatched cottages, on the way to Limerick on the River Shannon.

Sightseeing

Here, an orientation tour shows you King John's Castle, St. Mary's Cathedral and the treaty stone. Next is the spectacular Cliffs of Moher which tower approximately 700 feet above the roaring Atlantic Ocean. (B)

Day 11 - Sligo

 
Galway - Sligo.
Sightseeing

After your introduction to Galway, drive through the rocky and wind-swept landscape of Connemara. Stop along the way to view the Abbey at Kylemore. Continue through Yeats' Country to Sligo. (B,D)

Day 12 - Belfast

 
Sligo - Derry - Belfast.
Bus

Drive through County Donegal, crossing the border into Northern Ireland and continuing on to Derry.

A sightseeing tour shows you the city walls, which are some of the best-preserved in Europe. Next visit the Giant's Causeway with its huge basalt columns rising from the sea. Then on to Belfast. (B,D)

Day 13 - Dublin

Day 15 - Chester

 
Dublin - Chester.

Board the ferry and cross the Irish Sea to Holyhead on Anglesey Island in Wales.

National Parks

Make a stop to view Conwy Castle before seeing the magnificent mountain passes of Snowdonia National Park on your journey through North Wales.

Day 16 - Chester

Day 17 - Glasgow

 
Lake District - Glasgow.

Day 18 - Isle Of Skye

 
Glasgow - Isle Of Skye.

Drive along the banks of Loch Lomond to Glencoe. Then on through Fort William, in the shadow of Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the British Isles.

Day 19 - Scotland

 
Isle Of Skye - Loch Ness - Scottish Highlands.
Sightseeing

Free time this morning to explore the island before returning to the mainland. Travel along the banks of Loch Ness and stop at the ruins of Urquhart Castle to see if you can spot “Nessie.”

Next is Culloden, site of the famous battle, before reaching the Scottish Highlands later this afternoon. (B,D)

Day 20 - Edinburgh

 
Scottish Highlands - St. Andrews - Edinburgh.
Golfing

This morning drive to the famous golf course at St. Andrews to see the 18th hole. Continue over the splendid Forth Bridge to Edin­burgh, Scotland's lovely capital. During the Festival, tickets to the spec­tacular Edinburgh Tattoo are included. (B)

Day 21 - Edinburgh

 
Sightseeing

Sightseeing with a local guide highlights Princes Street, the ancient Royal Mile, Holyrood House, Arthur's seat, the New Town with its beautiful Georgian architecture, and the new Scottish Parliament buildings. End the tour with a guided visit to the apart­ments inside Edinburgh Castle.

Day 22 - York

 
Dinburgh - York.

Travel through the Scottish Borderlands past Jedburgh Abbey and back into England. Stop for a brief visit at Hadrian's Wall.

End the day in York, where a walking tour includes the famous “Shambles” and ends at the magnificent Minster.

Day 23 - London

 
York - Coventry - Stratford - London.
Sightseeing

Continue past Anne Hathaway's cottage to Stratford-upon-Avon for a visit to Shakespeare'' birthplace.

Bus

Later, drive through the scenic English countryside en route back to London. (B)
