Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - Boston

 
Arrival In Boston.

Arrive today in the beautiful city of Boston. You have a complimentary transfer to your hotel, where the balance of the day is free.

Tonight, gather with your travelling companions for a Welcome Reception.


Day 2 - Bar Harbor

 
Boston - Maine Coast - Bar Harbor.
Sightseeing

This morning journey through Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and along the scenic shoreline of Maine. The quaint villages along the way portray the state’s rich past in whaling, ship­build­ing and lobstering. Arrive at the seaside town of Bar Harbor.

Food and Dining

This evening, join your fellow travelers for a traditional Lobster Bake. (FB,D)

Day 3 - Bar Harbor

 
Acadia National Park Excursion.
National Parks

Explore beautiful Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park this morning.

Beach

Its wooded roads offer views of quiet ponds and rocky beaches, highlighted by the blaze of autumn colors.

Sightseeing

A visit to the top of Cadillac Mountain provides sweeping views of the park, Bar Harbor and the islands of French-man's Bay.

Relaxation

The remainder of the day is at leisure.

Shopping

Perhaps shop, take an optional nature cruise or simply relax in this quaint village with its many shops. (FB)


Day 4 - Bar Harbor

 
Bar Harbor - Pinkham Notch - North Conway.
Bus

Leave the Maine Coast, traveling through the colorful woodlands of maple, birch and sumac.

Sightseeing

Entering New Hampshire, stop at Pinkham Notch for a gondola ride (Sep - early Oct) to the top of Wildcat Mountain for incredible views of the White Mountains.

Food and Dining

Spend the night in the town of North Conway, a popular year-round resort. After dinner, enjoy a presentation on the flora and fauna of the White Mountains. (FB,D)

Day 5 - Vermont

 
North Conway - Woodstock - Killington.
Sightseeing

More beautiful views today as you travel through New Hampshire into Vermont. Tiny villages and remote farmhouses are framed by the striking autumn colors on the way to picturesque Woodstock.

Museums

Visit Billings Farm and Museum for an engag­ing look back into rural New England farm life.

Bus

Then on to Killington, in the heart of the Green Mountains. (FB,D)

Day 6 - Lake Placid

 
Killington - Fort Ticonderoga - Lake Placid.
Sightseeing

First visit famous Fort Ticonderoga, at the southern tip of Lake Champlain. Built in the 1750s, the fort played a strategic role in colonial history. Then travel into New York State and the breathtaking Adirondack Moun­tains, dotted with sparkling lakes.

Overnight in the lively village of Lake Placid and view the 1980 Winter Olympic Arena. (FB) Stay at Lake Placid Crowne Plaza Resort (F).


Day 7 - Springfield

 
Lake Placid - Albany - Springfield.
Sightseeing

Travel south today through spectacular scenery to the wooded shores of Lake George. Continue to the state capital, Albany, at the head­waters of the Hudson River and terminus of the Erie Canal. Visit the impressive Rockefeller Empire State Plaza before crossing into western Massachusetts and to the rolling countryside of the Berkshires.

Museums

Learn about the area's most famous artist on a visit to the Norman Rockwell Museum. Then, on to Springfield. (FB,D)

Day 8 - Boston

 
Springfield - Lexing­ton & Concord - Depart Boston.
Sightseeing

This morning, drive into the heart of Revolutionary War country with a visit to the towns of Lexington and Concord. See the Minuteman Statue, Concord Bridge and Lexington Green. Then, return to Boston via the historic Back Bay and North End neighborhoods.

A compli­mentary transfer is provided to Boston Logan Air­port as well as a stop at the Boston hotel for passengers wishing to enjoy more time in this historic city. Please do not schedule any flights before 4 p.m. (FB)
