Trip Itinerary
Day 1 - On the Plane
Commercial Flight
Board your transpacific flight.
Day 2 - Hanoi
Arrive In Hanoi, Vietnam.
Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Relaxation
The remainder of the day is free.
Hotel
Stay at Sofitel Plaza Hanoi (SF).
Day 3 - Hanoi
Sightseeing
Hanoi is a city of lakes and parks with a French influence from its colonial days. With less traffic and congestion than many other Asian cites, it is an attractive town to start your adventure. Your sightseeing tour starts with a cyclo ride to the Old Quarter. These chauffeur-pedaled tricycles are one of the best ways to see the city. Enjoy a visit to the Temple of Literature, founded in 1070 AD. Then on to Hoan Kiem Lake, with its Tortoise Tower, the Opera House, built between 1901 and 1911, and the One Pillar Pagoda.
Sightseeing
Next, see Ho Chi Minh’s home and mausoleum and the Cathedral of St. Joseph.
Food and Dining
Savor a local lunch before strolling through a museum, and finally, take in a water puppet show. (B,L)
Day 4 - Hanoi
Hanoi - Halong Bay.
Ocean Cruise
Drive through the countryside to remarkable Halong Bay. Board a traditional sailing junk and begin your cruise.
Sightseeing
This vast bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is dotted with more than 1,000 limestone peaks rising from the ocean floor. Explore some of the caves and islets, and glide by the floating villages of the fishermen and pearl farmers who live on the bay. (B,L,D)

Day 5 - Vietnam
Halong Bay - Hanoi - Danang - Hoi An.

Then, disembark and return to Hanoi for your flight to Danang.

Day 6 - Vietnam
Cooking Classes
Start with a trip to a local market to purchase ingredients for today’s appetizing experience: a cooking class at the Red Bridge Restaurant. A short cruise on the Perfume River brings you to the restaurant and cooking school, where you and your traveling companions will prepare five traditional dishes for lunch.

Day 7 - Hue
Hoi An - Hue.
Bus
Journey north over the Truong Son Mountains, a region of stark beauty and scenic views.
Sightseeing
On arrival in Hue, tour the Old Imperial City, constructed in the early 19th century and modeled after Beijing’s Forbidden City.

Within its walls are numerous palaces and temples as well as a library and museum. (B,L)

Day 8 - Ho Chi Minh City
Hue - Ho Chi Minh City.
Commercial Flight
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s largest and most colorful city.

Enjoy a sightseeing tour which highlights the splendid architecture, markets and museums of the city formerly called Saigon. (B,L)

Day 9 - Ho Chi Minh City

Take a morning excursion to the Cu Chi Tunnels. This incredible network of tunnels was built during the Vietnam War, connecting command posts, hospitals, shelters, and weapon factories for the Viet Cong.

Your afternoon is at leisure to explore on your own, shop or relax. (B,L)
Day 10 - Can Tho
Ho Chi Minh City - My Tho - Can Tho.
Sightseeing
Head to the Mekong Delta and the bustling town of My Tho. Your first stop is the Vinh Trang Pagoda, a sanctuary for orphans.
Sailing
Next, board a boat and sail among the islands of the Mekong River. Afterward, continue on to Can Tho. (B,L,D)

Day 11 - Siem Reap
Can Tho - Ho Chi Minh City - Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Shopping
Take an excursion to the Cai Rang floating market. Fruit and vegetable vendors display their colorful produce on long poles above their boats in hopes of attracting buyers from the throngs of smaller vessels.

Returning to Hoi Chi Minh City, board your flight for Siem Reap in Cambodia. (B,L,D)

Day 12 - Siem Reap
Angkor Thom Excursion.
Sightseeing
Around the 16th century, Angkor was abandoned and the jungle took over and concealed the ruins. The site was rediscovered in the late 1850’s, and restoration and new discoveries continue today. Start your explorations in Angkor Thom, the royal walled city. Enter through the impressive South Gate and continue on to see the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper Kings. Then stroll to the Bayon Temple and view its mystic galleries of bas reliefs, and the sanctuary with its giant stone faces.

Next, visit Ta Prohm, still partially enshrouded by the jungle. Your afternoon is free. (B)
Day 13 - Bangkok
Siem Reap - Angkor Wat Excursion - Bangkok.
Sightseeing
Explorations today focus on Angkor Wat, nominated as one of the new Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage site. These ruins were the royal seat of the wealthy during the Khmer Empire which flourished between the 9th and 13th centuries. The site boasts two monumental temples and 100 smaller ones, of which the most famous is Angkor Wat.

Later this today, fly to Bangkok for your overnight at an airport hotel. (B)

Day 14 - Bangkok
