Detailed Trip Description
Visit the ‘hot spots’ of South Africa. Game drive in search of the“Big Five” in Kruger National Park, tour the Cape Peninsula, and enjoy the beauty of the famous Garden & Wine Routes. You will fly from Johannesburg to Cape Town to get a great overview of South Africa without the long drive between the two regions.
Trip Itinerary
Day 1 - Johannesburg
Arrive in Johannesburg.
Hotel
Upon arrival in Johannesburg, you will be met and transferred to the Protea Waterfront Hotel, Centurion, or similar, for your overnight.
Day 2 - South Africa
Kruger National Park.
National Parks
After breakfast, you will meet your guide and group in the hotel foyer and begin your adventure to Kruger National Park. Drive through the scenic province of Mpumalanga and arrive in the early afternoon at Kruger, the famous wildlife sanctuary and the largest reserve in South Africa. The park stretches north to south over approximately 500 km and is home to the “Big Five” as well as numerous other species of fauna and flora.
Safari
Enjoy your first game drive in the late afternoon.
Camping
Overnight in Kruger National Park at the Lower Sabie Rest Camp, or similar, for three nights. (B)
Day 3 - 4 - South Africa
Kruger National Park.
Safari
Early morning and late afternoon game drives are undertaken in search of the numerous animals inhabiting the park. Optional night game drive or game walks are available (booked locally).
Camping
Return to the Lower Sabie Rest Camp, or similar, for your overnights. (2B)
Day 5 - Cape Town
Kruger National Park / Johannesburg / Cape Town.
Commercial Flight
Exit the park after breakfast, arriving back in Johannesburg in the early afternoon. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Cape Town (flight additional cost).
Hotel
On arrival in Cape Town, you will be transferred to the Cape Town Hollow Hotel, or similar, for your overnight, for two nights.
Sightseeing
You will have the evening free to explore the vibrant waterfront from your well-situated waterfront hotel. Set against the majestic Table Mountain, Cape Town offers scenic, historic, and cultural attractions. (B)
Day 6 - Cape Town
Sightseeing
After breakfast, you will have a full day peninsula tour. Driving along the Atlantic seaboard via Hout Bay and Chapmans Peak, you will visit the Cape Point Nature Reserve, returning to your hotel via Boulders Penguin Colony and the Indian Ocean coastline.
Sightseeing
A morning or afternoon cable car ascent up Table Mountain is included (weather dependent).

Return to the Cape Town Hollow Hotel for your overnight. (B)
Day 7 - 8 - South Africa
Garden Route (Knysna).
Sightseeing
Departing Cape Town, you will explore the famous Garden Route, an area of lush vegetation and abundant waterways bordering the coastal strip between the forests of the Tsitsikamma and the winelands of the Western Cape.

A full day is available to browse the charming town of Knysna or a variety of optional activities (booked locally).
River or Barge Cruise
Enjoy a sunset boat cruise or from July to November, you can go on a whale watching cruise.

Overnight at the Knysna Hollow Hotel, or similar. (2B)
Day 9 - Oudtshoorn
Sightseeing
Heading inland, drive to Oudtshoorn via the Outeniqua Pass. Enjoy fascinating guided tours of an ostrich farm and the famous Cango Caves.

Overnight at the Queens Hotel, or similar. (B)
Day 10 - Stellenbosch
Wine Route (Stellenbosch).
Sightseeing
Your journey will take you through the picturesque fruit and wine-growing valley known as the longest wine route in the world, “Route 62”.
Wine
You will visit two wine farms for wine tasting and explore the charming town of Stellenbosch.
Hotel
Overnight at the Nuy Valley Guest House, or similar. (B)
Day 11 - Cape Town
Cape Town / Onward.
Private Car Service
After breakfast, you will make your way back to Cape Town.
In the afternoon, transfer to the airport for your onward flight. (B)
