The Beijing Olympics from August 5-24 is an exciting time to be in China. The Chinese are marshaling their manpower and economic force to make this one of the greatest Olympics of all time. This promises to be a historic time which can produce many incredible memories. We recommend that you obtain your Olympic event tickets. Then we can take care of everything else! Itinerary: Starting in USA-Shanghai with stops in Shanghai-Guilin, Yangshuo, Yangshuo-Xi'an, Xi'an-Beijing, Great Wall of China.
Trip Itinerary
Day 1 - On the Plane
Commercial Flight
You will leave the USA for your flight to Shanghai. The adventure begins!
Day 2 - Shanghai
Welcome to Shanghai.
You will arrive in Shanghai, where you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel.
Day 3 - Shanghai
Sightseeing
Enjoy a tour of the classic Yu Yuan Gardens. Exit the Gardens area, to one of the main shopping centers of Shanghai known as Chinatown. Next visit the Shanghai Art Museum. In the evening, you will be taken to the Bund for dinner. B
Performing Arts
The famous Peace Hotel Jazz Band (in the Bund area).
Day 4 - Guilin
Shanghai-Guilin.
Commercial Flight
Morning flight to Guilin; guided hotel transfer.
Sightseeing
Today enjoy a brief city tour, including Fubo Hill and Elephant Trunk Hill Park. Then visit the beautiful Reed Flute Caves. Option: The world famous Guilin Foot Massage! B

Day 5 - Yangzhou
River or Barge Cruise
Today take the Li Jiang River Cruise. This is one of the most beautiful areas in the whole world. The cruise ends in Yangshuo, a quaint village in the midst of the beautiful fantasy shaped mountains.
Bicycling
You can take a bicycle ride or drive outside the city to see some of the most beautiful sites you will ever see.

Outdoor amazing new multi-media presentation, coordinated by famous Chinese director with the amazing fantasy-shaped mountains as a backdrop .
Day 6 - Xian
Yangshuo-Xi'an.
Sightseeing
Drive through the Chinese countryside, stop and visit a local resident and/or farmer in this area.
Commercial Flight
Continue onto airport for your flight to Xi'an.

Day 7 - Xian
Sightseeing
Enjoy a tour of the city, including the old city wall and the Wild Goose Pagoda, with its Drum Tower and Bell Tower. After lunch visit the Shaanxi Provincial Museum B, L, D

Dinner: A Dim Sum Restaurant.
Day 8 - Beijing
Xi'an-Beijing.
Sightseeing
Today visit what has been called the 8th Wonder of the World the Terra Cotta Soldiers Museum. Oftentimes, one of the farmers who discovered the site is actually there. You will also visit the Terra Cotta Soldiers Replica Factory.
Commercial Flight
Afterwards you will fly to to Beijing.

Day 9 - Beijing
Sightseeing
The day begins with a visit to TianAnmen Square and then to the Forbidden City. In addition to seeing the buildings and grounds of the Emperor's palace, you will also see the Emperor's clock collection and the Qing Dynasty Jewelry, Robes and Relics collection (which Westerners rarely see).. After lunch you will go to the Temple of Heaven, which is where the Emperor went every year to commune with the gods.

We will take you to whatever Olympic Events that you want during the day.
Sightseeing
The day begins with a visit to TianAnmen Square and then to the Forbidden City. Then we will take you to a special part of the Great Wall at Jinshanling, where you can stay overnight in a guard tower! Enjoy this more secluded part of the wall with a home-cooked meal provided by your Chinese hosts. This adventurous portion of the Wall is not offered to the tourist on most general tours. B, L, D
Day 10 - Beijing
Sightseeing
Visit the Ming Tombs and walk the Sacred Way. After lunch visit the incredible Great Wall of China (at Badaling)! B, L

The day begins with a tour of a Chinese Hutong. Take a rickshaw ride, then a short walking tour and a visit to a local family.

Hotel transfer. Your afternoon is free.

If you have tickets: the Olympic Stadium for the Closeing Ceremony. Round-trip transfers. B, L, D (NOTE: Tickets not included in land price)
Day 13 - Beijing
Sightseeing
As people vacate Beijing you can do additional sightseeing or have a free day.

The Summer Palace, the Beijing Zoo, Panda Exhibit, the Yong He Gong Tibetan Buddhist Lamasery.
Day 14 - Beijing
You will be transferred to the airport for your flight back to the USA with many wonderful memories.
