Detailed Trip Description

This tour give you the essential sites of Thailand: Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. You will see the King's Palace, Wat Pra Kaeo, the Reclining Buddha, the river cruise and more in Bangkok. Everywhere you go you will experience the wonderful hospitality of the Thai people, delicious Thai foods and their warm, friendly smiles and service. Itinerary: Starting in Depart Los Angeles with stops in In Flight, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Siem Reap, Return USA

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - On the Plane

 
In Flight.
Commercial Flight

You leave for Thailand from LAX at in the late evening. (Meals on flight).


Day 2 - On the Plane

 
In Flight.
Commercial Flight

You lose this day due to the International Dateline. You will regain it on the return trip.


Day 3 - Bangkok

 
Arrive in Thailand.
Hotel

Our guide will meet your group and transfer you to your hotel.

Spa/Wellness

Then we will take you to dinner and for a complimentary Thai Massage.


Day 4 - Bangkok

 
Sightseeing

Today the day begins with a trip to the Golden Buddha Temple. Afterwards you will visit the Reclining Buddha Temple. After lunch you will go to the incredible Grand Palace with Wat Pra Kaeo.

Performing Arts

Evening: Traditional Thai dinner with classical dances, traditional performances, and beautiful costumes. (Possibly meet the dancers before backstage) B, L, D.


Day 5 - Chiang Mai

 
Commercial Flight

Today you will fly to Chiang Mai.

Hotel

There your guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. B, L.

Day 6 - Chiang Mai

 
Sightseeing

The day begins with a visit to the Doi Suthep, the ancient temple site. After lunch we will take you to the hotel to check in. Afterwards there will be a trip to the Handicraft "villages"--actually the various factories of the many things which the Thais make very well: silk, silver crafting, umbrellas, cloissonne, furniture and leather. Visit the Chiang Mai and Tribal Research Center with guide. B, L, D.

Evening Option:
Shopping

The Night Market.


Day 7 - Chiang Mai

 
Sightseeing

After breakfast you will visit the Elephant Camp, see the elephant show and cultural show, take a one hour elephant ride, go on a bamboo raft and learn about the noble Asian elephant and the worker monkeys. You will also visit the Orchid Farm.

Performing Arts

Evening - Khantoke dinner with hilltribe dances. B, L, D.


Day 8 - Chiang Rai

 
Sightseeing

After breakfast you will go on an excursion to visit the hilltribe villages where you will meet the Aca, the Hmong, Yao and the Karen. Lunch will be at local restaurants along the way.

Hotel

Then you will arrive in Chiang Rai and check into the hotel.

Food and Dining

Dinner at a local restaurant in Chiang Rai. B, L, D.


Day 9 - Chiang Rai

 
Sightseeing

Today you will visit the Queen Mother's Home and Garden, Doi Tung.

Hotel

Then we will return you to your hotel. B, L.


Day 10 - Bangkok

 
Sightseeing

The day begins with a drive to the Burmese border. Then you will go to the historic Golden Triangle where three countries share a border: Thailand, Laos and Burma (Myanmar). Then you will take a ride on a small river boat to the Burmese side and stop on a small island owned by Laos.

Commercial Flight

You will then take the evening flight from Chiang Rai to Bangkok, where your guide will meet you.

Hotel

Transfer you to your hotel. B, L, D.


Day 11 - Bangkok

 
Sightseeing

You leave early in the morning to visit the Floating Market. Here you will ride on the canals through an older Thai river neighborhood and onto the actual Floating Market area. You can have lunch at the Rose Garden and enjoy the grounds. Possibly go to the cobra show.

Hotel

Then we return you to your hotel. B

Day 12 - Siem Reap

 
Commercial Flight

Today you fly to Siem Reap.

Hotel

Your guide will meet you and transfer you to the hotel.

Sightseeing

The rest of the day is free to rest and enjoy the grounds. B, (lunch on plane).


Day 13 - Siem Reap

 
Sightseeing

We will begin the Angkor Wat tour with Angkor Thom, the ancient city, and Angkor Wat, the ancient temple City. After a mid-day break you will go to the ancient temple of Angkor Wat itself. Then we will take a late afternoon cruise on Ton Le Sap (the Great Lake).

Day 14 - Siem Reap

 
Sightseeing

You will visit some of the most spectacular sites in Angkor Wat, including Ta Prohm and Bantay Srei.

Evening option:

Day 15 - Siem Reap

 

Today you will be flown back to the USA.
