9-Day bicycle tour from Paro to Thimphu, Punakha, and Wangdi.
Trip Itinerary
Day 1 - Paro
Arrive in Paro.
Bicycling
Arrive Paro. Afternoon, bicycle around the Paro Valley to Drugyal Dzong in the north and up to Chelila Pass in the southwest.
Day 2 - Thimphu
Bicycling
Bicycle to Thimphu (4 hours/65 km).
Sightseeing
Afternoon, sightseeing in Thimphu on bicycle.
Day 3 - Thimphu
Bicycling
After an early breakfast, bicycle to Begana north of Thimphu (45 km).
Sightseeing
Visit the Tango Monastery and the Cheri Monastery.
Bicycling
Bicycle back to Thimphu via Dechencholing.
Day 4 - Punakha
Bicycling
After an early breakfast, drive to Punakha (77 km) over Dochula pass (3120 m).
Day 5 - Wangdi Phodrang
Bicycling
Full day of sightseeing of Punakha and Wangdi on bicycle.
Day 6 - Punakha
Bicycling
After an early breakfast, bicycle up to Pelela pass (65 km from Punakha) and return back to Punakha.
Day 7 - Thimphu
Bicycling
Drive back to Thimphu.
Day 8 - Paro
Bicycling
Morning free to explore Thimphu and afternoon drive to Paro.
Day 9 - Paro
Depart Bhutan.
