This interesting and varied tour of Myanmar takes you from Yangon to Inle Lake and then from Mandalay to Bagan on the unforgettable the Ayravata Cruise, RV Paukkan 2007. Experience the bustling city of Yangon, with its charming, full of history, colonial architecture, atmospheric markets (Scott Market) and glittering pagodas which are the centre of Burmese people. Notes: - The price of this tour is valid for travel during October and December 2008 - The price is a guideline and will vary according to travel dates and room availability. The price is based on two people traveling together during high season and sharing a twin or double room. - This price can be applied only for the hotel mentioned in the tour itinerary. Changing hotels and hotel categories will affect the tour price.
Trip Itinerary
Day 1 - Yangon
Arrive in Yangon. Visit Bogyoke Market and the remarkable Shwedagon Pagoda.
Sightseeing
On arrival meet our tour guide, who will assist you through all the immigration procedures before you transfer to the deluxe Savoy Hotel. Relax and freshen up yourself before we take you to the Bogyoke Market (or Scott Market), known for its colonial architecture and inner cobblestone streets. End your day at the Shwedagon Pagoda, where you'll enjoy the sunset views of this gorgeous chedi (Pagoda) which is covered by more than 40 tons of gold leaves.

Day 2 - Heho
Take a flight to Heho followed by a scenic drive to Nyaung Shwe the gateway to Inle Lake.
Board a morning flight to Heho and enjoy a one-hour scenic drive to Nyaung Shwe, the gateway village to Inle Lake. En route you'll visit a local monastery before heading to your hotel via a private motorboat for check in. You'll have a bit of time to relax before we take you to explore the many sites around the lake, including floating villages and the famous jumping cats monastery.

Day 3 - Heho
Explore the village and morning market at Inle Lake.
Sightseeing
Begin the day with a visit to a morning market right on the lake, which is frequented by the locals. The journey continues as we bring you to the Paoh village of In Dein, where you'll tread up a covered stairway to the beautiful Alaung Sitthou area, with its ancient vegetation-covered stupas and magnificent views over the lake. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure, taking in the natural surroundings.

Day 4 - Mandalay
Visit a local weaving village and cheroot factory. Then take a flight to Mandalay.
Before departing Inle Lake, you'll pay a visit to a local weaving village and cheroot factory, which produces handmade cigars.We'll then transfer you to Heho Airport for your flight to the legendary city of Mandalay.

Day 5 - Mandalay
Explore Mandalay and its famous Mahamuni Pagoda, Amarapura the former capital and Kuthodaw Pagoda. Never forget to enjoy the view over the town from Mandalay Hill.
Sightseeing
In Mandalay, your trip begins at the famous Mahamuni Pagoda, with its venerable golf-leaf covered Buddha statue, before we bring you to the former capital of Amarapura, where you'll have an opportunity to attend the daily meal of over a thousand monks at the country's largest monastery and attend a silk weaving workshop. Your adventure continues back in Mandalay with a visit to several prominent sites including Kuthodaw Pagoda, with its 729 marble stone slabs of Buddhist scriptures (known as the world's biggest book). End the day enjoying sunset views over the town from Mandalay Hill.

Day 6 - Mandalay
Enjoy Ayravata Cruise along the Irrawaddy River and visit a local pottery village.
Relaxation
After a leisurely breakfast, enjoy some free time at the hotel before we take you to the jetty to board your ship, the Ayravata Cruise, RV Paukkan2007. Spend the day relaxing on board enjoying the many sights of the Irrawaddy River while dining and sipping cocktails before visiting a local pottery village.

Day 7 - Bagan
River cruise continues as you head downstream to Bagan. When arriving in Bagan, explore this ancient city and its thousands of pagodas.

On day 7, your relaxing river cruise continues as you head downstream to Bagan, visiting a traditional river village before transferring to your hotel. After freshening up you'll explore the many wonders of Bagan, including ancient stupas, caves and temples. In the afternoon, your cultural day of exploration continues in Ananda, an architectural masterpiece, where you'll enjoy a relaxing horse carriage tour among the temples. Overnight in Bagan
On day 8, begin the day with a visit to the busy Nyaung Oo Market before we take you to the countryside village of Minnanthu, with its unique and unusual temples. Next, take a stroll through the picturesque Myinkabar village with its many cultural sites. Your day comes to a relaxing end as you sit back and enjoy the sunset in Bagan from an open terrace. Day 8 - Yangon
Transfer to Yangon and visit the residence of Gold-ash U Shein and take a short walking tour around the downtown.
Relaxation
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel before we transfer you to the airport for your domestic flight to Yangon. After you've checked in to your hotel, your cultural journey continues with a visit to the residence of Gold-ash U Shein, famous for his traditional medicine practices in Europe, and a short walking tour around the downtown area. Your day concludes with a farewell dinner at the lovely Le Planteur restaurant.

Day 9 - Yangon
Depart Yangon.
After breakfast the day is yours to enjoy. Check out some of the sights of Yangon with your own car and guide before we transfer you to Yangon International Airport for your onward flight.
