A trip down the Mekong River is like none other! It will be awe inspiring experience that takes you down the river to see how it is the lifeblood of communities and its people. On your journey you will find occasional fishermen, people bathing or washing clothes, and perhaps a water buffalo cooling off. The river is shrouded in timelessness.
Trip Itinerary
Day 1 - Luang Prabang
Cruising down the Mekong River from Houayxai to Muang Pakbeng, it takes 4 hrs boat trip and then we continuing boat trip in 5 hrs longer to Luang Prabang, we will arrival late afternoon, check in to stay overnight in 2-3 stars hotel.
River or Barge Cruise
After 4 hrs trip, we stop 1 hr at Muang Pakbeng to have lunch beforewe continue a 5 hrs trip to Luang Prabang, arrival and have dinner Lao local style cuisine/rest (L,D)
Day 2-3 - Luang Prabang
City tour in Luang Prabang city (UNESCO world heritage site) and visit to the interesting places surrounding and countryside.
Day 2. we will visit to many a very old temples, visit former royal palace, Phousy hill stupa, visit pak Ou caves.return and stay in Luang Prabang (B,L,D)
Day3. visit to handicraft and weaving textile villages, visit Dara market and shopping. afternoon transfer to visit Kuangsy waterfalls and some minority villages. return and stay in Luang Prabang (B,L,D)
Day 4-5 - Vientiane
After breakfast, we excursion by bus/minivan from Luang Prabang to visit Muang Vangvieng, it will takes 4 hrs to jouney, arrival in afternoon and check in local guesthouse. we transfer from Muang Vangvieng to Vientiane capital in the day after and then do a city tour in Vientiane till 5 p.m of the day 5 before your deparure Laos at Wattai International Airport or depart at Lao - Thai friendship bridge to Nongkhai,Thailand.
Day 4. After avvival in Vangvieng, afternoon we transfer to visit the holly caves and then do some kayaking or rafting on Namsong river, visit to some minority villages before return to Vangvieng late afternoon, stay overnight in local guesthouse (B,L,D)
Day 5.After have a breakfast, we transfer from Vangvieng to Vientiane capital, do a city tour till 5 p.m before your departure from Laos. (B,L)
