Spend ten days with private guides in the wilds of Africa, photographing the Big Five--lion, buffalo, elephant, leopard and rhinoceros--while staying in first class safari camps. Then spend two days in Greystoke Mahale, trekking into the forest to see wild chimpanzees, led by local guides whose knowledge of the forest and chimps is unrivaled.
Trip Itinerary
Week 1 - Tanzania
Spend 3 nights in the Serengeti Game Reserve, 2 nights at the Loliondo Reserve, and 2 nights at the Ngorongoro Conservation area. This region is home to approximately a quarter of a million gazelles, two hundred thousand zebra and thousands of other herbivores, as well as huge prides of lion, high densities of cheetah and solitary leopards. On your private game drives and other activities you're sure to see most or all of these.
Stay close to the animals, in luxury tented camps or small cottages--not boring hotels.
Week 2 - Tanzania
Spend 2 nights in the Tarangire Game Reserve, where you will undoubtedly see large herds of elephants, and 3 nights at Greystoke Mahale at Lake Tanganyika, where you will trek in the Mahale Mountains, home to the world's largest known population of chimpanzees.
