Detailed Trip Description
Enjoy a thirteen day trip to China full of adventure, sightseeing, and excitement. You will have the opportunity to walk on the Great Wall, experience Guilin by boat, visit the Forbidden City, have a VIP experience at Hong Kong Disney, and more. This trip is a once in a lifetime trip for families but also may be enjoyed by singles. Three tour dates (one in May, September, and October) are adults only experience.
Trip Itinerary
Day 1 - Beijing
Upon exiting customs, you will be met by a tour representative who will escort you to your transfer vehicle. Relax as the driver assists with your luggage and escorts you to The Peninsula Beijing hotel.
Hotel
Take the day to relax and settle into the hotel, conveniently located near many of Beijing’s landmarks. Remember, you crossed the International Date Line and may require a nap or period of relaxation.
Food and Dining
Meet the other tourist that are sharing the adventure. You will begin with a traditional long-spout, tea-pouring ceremony, followed by a dinner of classical Chinese dishes.
Day 2 - Beijing
Semi-Private Tour
After breakfast at the hotel, you will enjoy a private group tour of Tiananmen Square and discover Beijing’s fascinating history. Afterwards, walk through the imposing Forbidden City - the palace complex where China’s emperors ruled the Middle Kingdom for nearly 500 years.
Food and Dining
Enjoy a family style lunch at a Cantonese restaurant.
Sightseeing
After lunch, you may relax or take the opportunity to explore the sights of Beijing on your own. Visit quaint teahouses and fascinating temples, or look for bargains at one of the many markets.
Performing Arts
Young and older travelers will be able to enjoy a Chinese cultural experience with the help of a master kite maker, calligrapher, and a opera face painter. You will have the opportunity to create your own kite, calligraphy creation, or learn how to paint your face in traditional Beijing opera face paint. After a hearty dinner that combines the best of East and West traditions, you will be treated to a private performance of Beijing opera.
Day 3 - Beijing
Historical and Educational Tours
Ride a cable car up to the Great Wall at Mutianyu, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. Walk along the top of this incredible structure and admire the fabulous view!
Cooking Classes
After an American style lunch at a converted schoolhouse, a local chef will demonstrate how to create the perfect noodle.
Nightlife
Spend your last night in Beijing exploring the city on your own. Knowledgeable guides will provide suggestions for tasty restaurants and incredible nightlife.
Day 4 - Beijing
Sightseeing
Travel by pedicab through the streets of Beijing’s ancient Hutong neighborhoods. At stops along the way, participate in demonstrations of traditional crafts like knot-tying and decorative paper-cutting, as well as a remarkable acrobatic display by a yo-yo master. Your afternoon in Beijing will conclude with a lunch at Noble House Restaurant.
Commercial Flight
You will fly to Chengdu, a 2400 year old city in the afternoon.
Food and Dining
After arriving at Sheraton Lido Chengdu Hotel, you will dine at Ginko, a cosmopolitan restaurant specializing in Sichuan cuisine.
Day 5 - Chengdu
Eco-Tourism
Observe a variety of delightful pandas in an unforgettable visit to China’s premier institution devoted to the preservation of giant pandas. Your privately-guided visit includes a presentation by a biologist and a peek at the natural habitats that have been recreated for the pandas.
Sporting Events
After a pizza lunch, you will be treated to a demonstration of Chinese stick fighting and given the opportunity to try out the moves you have learned.
Performing Arts
Following dinner at the hotel you will enjoy an evening of fun at the Sichuan Face-Changing Opera. This classic Chinese art form provides a variety of entertainment, including amusing acrobatic stunts, musicians, puppets and culminating with the amazing “face-changing” act.
Day 6 - Guilin
Commercial Flight
Following breakfast, you will fly one and a half hours to Guilin.
Group Tour
Following lunch at the Guilin Sheraton, your will tour the Guilin Esplanade that runs along the Lijiang River.
Hotel
A short motorcoach ride will bring you to the Hotel of Modern Art. After checking-in, feel free to explore the outdoor sculptures, playscapes and an art museum.
Nightlife
Children will enjoy a special dinner and a movie program while adults will have the opportunity to enjoy some time to themselves at the hotel with a private dinner.
Day 7 - Guilin
Arts, Crafts and Antiques
After breakfast, start your day with your choice of either a workshop on stone painting or a lesson in Tai Chi.
River or Barge Cruise
Soak in the beauty and enjoy lunch on the boat as you cruise along the lazy Li River through stunning landscapes of soaring magical formations. Enjoy lunch on the boat.
Shopping
Explore the shopping at market at Yangshuo. Afterwards, you will celebrate your final night in Guilin at a BBQ.
Day 8 - Shanghai
Commercial Flight
After breakfast, you will fly to Shanghai.
Sightseeing
After checking into the Hilton Shanghai you can explore the nearby shopping district. Later you will be treated to a song and dance presentation at the Children's Palace.
Food and Dining
Enjoy European-Asian fusion food in the city's hippest neighborhood, the waterfront Bund.
Day 9 - Shanghai
Performing Arts
At the Parisian inspired Fuxin Park you will be treated to a demonstration of fan dancing and martial arts by local Shanghai citizens.
Historical and Educational Tours
Stroll the streets of Old Shanghai, a district known for its preserved classic architecture and lively open-air markets. Yu Gardens is a 300-year-old oasis offering a retreat in the heart of one of the world’s biggest cities.
Sightseeing
After lunch on the 54th floor of the famous Jin Mao Tower the afternoon is yours to enjoy the hotel’s amenities or explore Shanghai’s many attractions and fabulous restaurants on your own. Ask your guide for suggestions.
Day 10 - Shanghai
Relaxation
Take the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing day at the hotel, sleeping in or enjoying one of the many amenities of the hotel. Alternatively, you may enjoy an extra non-inclusive excursion to the Shanghai Museum.
Performing Arts
After a dinner of classic Shanghai dishes, enjoy a visual feast and amazing show: ERA - Intersection of Time. This production is an updated version of classic Chinese acrobatics enhanced with a live rock band, exciting choreography, light effects and a breathtaking array of talented performers.
Day 11 - Hong Kong
Commercial Flight
After breakfast, you will fly to Hong Kong.
Amusement Parks
After checking in to the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel, the rest of the day is yours to enjoy the Park. Your VIP experience includes built-in FASTPASS service, special entry passes for stage shows, and reserved viewing for the afternoon parade.
Day 12 - Hong Kong
Amusement Parks
Feast on a bountiful breakfast in the Enchanted Garden Hotel with the company of all your favorite Disney characters.
Semi-Private Tour
Depending on your preferences, you may either spend a second day at Hong Kong Disneyland or enjoy a semi-private tour of Hong Kong led by your knowledgeable guide.
Food and Dining

Day 13 - Hong Kong
