Detailed Trip Description

This tour includes 8 memorable days touring the historically famous cities in Italy. This includes tours of Venice, Florence, and of course Rome. You will observe some of the most historically acclaimed works of art such as Michelangelo's breathtaking Sistine Chapel. Stroll through St Peter's Square, passing Bemini's famous colonnade, to visit St Peter's Basillica, where you will view Michelangelo's Pieta. Travel through the stunning panorama of Tuscany to Pisa. On arrival, view the famous Piazza del Miraccoli with its Leaning Tower, the Baptistery, the Duomo, and the Monumental Cemetery.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - On the Plane

 
Depart USA from your airport and fly to Venice, Italy.

Day 2 - Venice

 
Meals: Dinner
Arrive in Venice and settle in your hotel

Transfer to hotel and spend the day at leisure. Enjoy an orientation meeting with tour escort and a welcome dinner.


Day 3 - Venice

 
Meals: Breakfast
Boat ride to the Island of Murano

Murano is known throughout the world for its glass manufacturing industry.

Visit St Mark's Square

Guided walking tour of romantic Venice. View the Golden Basilica of San Marco, the Bridge of Sighs and visit the Doge's Palace, whose facade features a massive late-Gothic gate known as the Porta delia Carta.

Explore Venice on your Own

Take the remainder of the day to explore Venice on your own.


Day 4 - Venice

 
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Travel through the stunning panorama of Tuscany to Pisa. On arrival, view the famous Piazza del Miraccoli with its Leaning Tower, the Baptistery, the Duomo, and the Monumental Cemetery.

Tuscan Farm Wine Tasting

Visit a local Tuscan farm in the countryside for a wine tasting with local specialties.


Day 5 - Florence

 
Meals: Breakfast
Accademia of Fine Arts

This is where Michelangelo's "David" is housed. Walk to the Duomo, celebrated for its magnificent dome designed by Brunelieschi, and view the Baptistery's renowned "Gates of Paradise" by Ghiberti. Continue to explore the open air art museum of Signoria Square ending at Ponte Vecchio, known as the "Old Bridge."

Rest of Day is "at Leisure"

Enjoy the afternoon in Florence.


Day 6 - Florence

 
Meals: Breakfast
Travel the "Sun Route"

Travel along the famous "Sun Route" motorway to the medieval city of Assisi, world-known for its 13th century Basilica of St. Francis and Giotto's frescoes. Continue to Rome.

Illuminated Drive of Rome

Enjoy an illuminated drive through Rome and enjoy dinner with opera singers.


Day 7 - Rome

 
Meals: Breakfast
Tour Vatican Museum

Visit the Vatican Museums and Michelangelo's breathtaking Sistine Chapel. Stroll through St. Peter's Square, passing Bemini's famous colonnade, to visit St. Peter's Basilica, where you will view Michelangelo's Pieta. This highly finished marble sculpture depicts the body of Jesus in the arms of Mary after the Crucifixion, and was created for the funeral monument of French cardinal Jean de Biliheres.

Explore Rome at Leisure

Spend the rest of the day exploring Rome.


Day 8 - Rome

 
Meals: Breakfast
Transfer to the airport for your departure flight home arriving the same day.

Fly home to your local airport.
