Detailed Trip Description

Enjoy 12 Days Russia and the Baltic (Start Moscow) tour featuring sightseeing and many activities in Russian Federation, Finland and Sweden. Start off your tour with a guided tour of the Kremlin, a visit Red Square and see Lenin's Mausoleum and St. Basil's domed Cathedral, a travel on the Moscow Metro and see a performance by the Moscow Circus in Moscow. You will then make your way to Klin to see Tchaikovsky's house, and to Novgrod for a guided tour of the old town and a look at the Millennium Bell. Stop by Petrodvorets to visit the garden and see the fountains of the Tsars' Summer Palace before heading to St. Petersburg for a guided tour of the Hermitage, a look at the St. Peter and St. Paul Fortress and the church of the Spilt Blood and the Admiralty. Stop in Helsinki to see the Sibelius Monument, the Olympic Stadium and Senate Square and to visit the 'Church of the Rock' before heading on the tours final stop in Stockholm where you will see Gamla Stan (the old town) and the changing of the guard at the Royal Palace. Day 1 - On the Plane

 
Depart for Europe.

Your exciting European trip begins.

Day 2 - Moscow

 
Arrive Moscow.

Upon arrival at the airport, you'll be greeted and transferred to your hotel.

Food and Dining

This evening, meet your Tour Manager and get to know your fellow travellers over dinner. ( Dinner )


Day 3 - 4 - Moscow

 
Sightseeing

Two full days to discover all Moscow has to offer.

Museums

Visit some of the city's popular museums.

Sightseeing

Enjoy a ride on the famous Moscow Metro. Walk through the Kremlin or shop at Russia's largest department store on Red Square ( Breakfast, Breakfast, Dinner )


Day 5 - Novgorod

 
Moscow to Novgorod.
Bus

From bustling capital to ancient fortress city. Today we travel to what was once the stronghold of the early Tsars, Novgorod.

Sightseeing

Visit the old Kremlin with its imposing fortress walls and touching World War II war memorials ( Breakfast, Dinner )


Day 6 - St. Petersburg

 
Novgorod to St. Petersburg.
Sightseeing

Today we travel to what some still consider the true capital of Russia, St. Petersburg. Named after Peter the Great, the city was built to be Russia's "Window on Europe".

Sightseeing

We visit Peter's summer palace, Petrodvorets, famous for its baroque architecture and intricate gardens. ( Breakfast, Dinner )


Day 7 - St. Petersburg

 
Sightseeing

Our local guide takes us around St. Petersburg this morning. Step back in time as we tour the Hermitage which now holds what remains of the personal art collection of Catherine the Great.

Performing Arts

Later, take a stroll along the busy Nevsky Prospekt and perhaps take in a performance of the world famous Russian Ballet tonight. (Breakfast)


Day 8 - Helsinki

 
St. Petersburg to Helsinki.
Bus

Today we farewell the former Soviet Union, making a short stop in the medieval city of Vyborg, before entering Finland.

Sightseeing

We travel through pine forests and reindeer sanctuaries to the quirky capital, Helsinki. ( Breakfast, Dinner )


Day 9 - Helsinki

 
Sightseeing

Helsinki is an interesting mix between Finnish, Swedish and Russian ideals, having been occupied by its neighbours for a large portion of its history.

Sightseeing

Shop along main street Mannerheim, visit the Olympic stadium or maybe take the Hydrofoil across to Estonia's capital, Tallinn. (Breakfast)


Day 10 - Stockholm

 
Helsinki to Stockholm.

More free time in Helsinki this morning before we board our luxurious overnight ferry to Stockholm.

Sailing

Chill out on the upper deck and watch the sun set over Finland as we sail away, shop on the Promenade deck or be pampered in the onboard leisure centre. ( Breakfast )


Day 11 - Stockholm

 
Sightseeing

Docking in Sweden's capital this morning, it's straight into sightseeing. Wander the narrow streets of Gamla Stan (the old town), see the changing of the guards at the Royal Palace.

Museums

Why not take the opportunity to visit the Vasa museum? ( Breakfast, Dinner )


Day 12 - Stockholm

 
Depart Stockholm.

Time to swap addresses and say farewell to your new-found friends as your tour ends after breakfast. ( Breakfast )
