Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - San Francisco

 
Arrive San Francisco.

Upon arrival, you have a complimentary transfer to your hotel. Your Tour Director will be on hand this afternoon to welcome you and answer questions.

This evening, enjoy a Welcome Reception at the hotel.

Hotel

Stay at Radisson Fisherman’s Wharf (MF).


Day 2 - San Francisco

 
San Francisco - Garberville.
Wine

Travel into California's picturesque Sonoma Wine Country and stop at a local winery for a guided tour and wine tasting.

Sightseeing

At Richardson Grove State Park, take a walk through an old-growth red­wood forest. On to the historic Benbow Inn on the Eel River. (FB,D)

Stay at Benbow Inn (SF).


Day 3 - Gold Beach

 
Garberville - Gold Beach.
Sightseeing

Journey along the "Avenue of the Giants," the most out­standing display of giant California redwood trees in the state. Stop in the Victorian seaport of Eureka and stroll along the restored boardwalk. Admire the city’s magnificent houses and their architecture.

Bus

Then journey through Redwood National Park and cross the border into Oregon.

Sailing

Board a jetboat for a thrilling ride along the scenic Rogue River and enjoy the spec­tacular scenery and abundant wildlife. (FB)

Day 4 - Gold Beach

 
Gold Beach - Oregon Coast - Newport.
Adventure

Travel along the Oregon Coast, an area renowned for its dramatic landscape and breathtaking vistas. At the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, take a dune buggy ride climbing and descending through some of the impressive dunes.

Sightseeing

Stop for photos of the beautiful Heceta Head Lighthouse, a working lighthouse perched on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Continue north, arriving in seaside Newport.

Food and Dining

Tonight, enjoy a fun bonfire and s’mores party on the beach. (FB)

Day 5 - Portland

 
Newport - Portland.
Museums

Following the coast north, turn inland and visit the Evergreen Aviation Museum, home to Howard Hughes' Spruce Goose.

Wine

Then drive through the scenic Willamette Valley, Oregon's premier wine country, and arrive in Portland.

Sightseeing

Enjoy an orien­ta­tion tour featuring the city's main land­marks and visit the world-famous International Rose Test Garden. (FB,D)

Stay at Four Points by Sheraton (SF).


Day 6 - Portland

 
Columbia River Gorge Excursion.
Sightseeing

Drive along the historic Columbia River Highway, stop­ping at Crown Point for a spectacular vista of the gorge. Then at Bonneville Dam, learn about the Lewis and Clark expedi­tion and the pioneers on the Oregon Trail. On the way back to Portland, stop at Multnomah Falls, cascading some 620 feet in frothy splendor.

Relaxation

The afternoon and evening are at leisure in Portland. (FB)


Day 7 - Portland

 
Portland - Olympic National Park.
Sightseeing

Visit the Mount St. Helens Visitor Center and learn about the volcanic blast of May 18, 1980. Continue west to the rugged coast of Olympic National Park.

Sightseeing

Crashing waves, rugged headlands and sandy beaches are yours to enjoy on this stretch of the Washington coast.

Sightseeing

Visit the Hoh Rain Forest and take a short walk to the "Hall of Mosses." Tonight, delight in a spec­tacular sunset from your hotel located on a bluff above the Pacific Ocean. (FB,D)

Day 8 - Seattle

 
Olympic National Park - Puget Sound - Seattle.
Sightseeing

Journey through glacier-capped moun­tains and along the wild Pacific coast.

Then ferry across Puget Sound to Seattle.

Food and Dining

This evening, join your fellow travelers for a Farewell Dinner. (FB,D)

Hotel

Stay at Crowne Plaza (SF) or Doubletree Southcenter (SF).


Day 9 - Seattle

 
Depart Seattle.

Transfer to Seattle’s SeaTac Airport for your flight home. (FB)
