Detailed Trip Description

A great experience for those who love Italy and who love to cook! Visit Rome for one day, and then slow-cook with Roberto Russo, great for his personality and charm, besides his fabulos recepies (see video.) Move to Florence, see the David, and cook at elegant Villa Pitiana, in the Chianti hills. On your way back to Rome stop in Orvieto, small town of Etruscan origins, famous for its underground caves and the Duomo with a great series of frescoes by Luca Signorelli.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - Rome

 

Arrival in Rome
Private transfer to centrally located hotel.
Private Vatican Tour – Pick-up at hotel at 2:00 pm

Day 2 - Tuscany

 

10:00 AM Private transfer to Parco Fiorito, located near Cortona
1:00 PM Enjoy a 3 course lunch menu at Parco Fiorito
5:00 PM You will experience your first 3 hour cooking lesson with Roberto Russo followed by dinner

Day 3 - Tuscany

 

9:00 AM Breakfast
10:00 AM Cooking lesson followed by lunch
In the afternoon you’ll have time to explore the beautiful walking trails surrounding the farmhouse or have some quiet time by the Jacuzzi. Spa treatments are also avilable. Enjoy a massage out in the open overlooking the beautiful sceneries; there are many treatments to choose from. Cost will vary.
Dinner on your own.

Day 4 - Tuscany

 

8:00 AM Breakfast at Hotel
9:00 AM Departure to Cortona (the movie under the Tuscan Sun was filmed in this town.) Cortona is surrounded by Etruscan walls, around 3000 years old. This will be a memorable place.
11:00 AMTour of a winery in the area of Vino Nobile. There you’ll visit the cellars, and you’ll enjoy the wine tasting. You’ll have a typical lunch like pasta, prosciutto, pecorino cheese, 3 wines and vinsanto with biscuits.
After lunch visit of Montepulciano
3:30 PM Back at Parco Fiorito
5:00 PM Enjoy your 3rd and last cooking class with Roberto followed by dinner.

Day 5 - Florence

 

8:00 AM Breakfast
9:00 AM Private transfer to Florence
10:30 AM Walking tour of Florence including a visit of the Accademia Museum – total 4 hour tour
1:30 AM Lunch
3:30 PM Check-in at the Villa Pitiana Hotel in the Chianti hills
5:00 PM Cooking class followed by dinner

Day 6 - Umbria

 

10:00 AM Departure to Orvieto . This city is in southwestern Umbria situated on the flat summit of a large butte of volcanic tuff. The site of the city is among the most dramatic in Europe, the history from Etruscan era to Roman and post-Roman eras, and middle ages. Discover the underground city, Etruscan ruins, and so much more.
1:30 PM Lunch (antipasto, pasta, meat dish, side dish, desert, water and wine)
8:00 PM Departure to Fiumicino – Hotel Euro House Inn
