Your Safari begins
Hotel

On arrival at Kruger Mpumalanga Airport you are met by a representative from Sable Tours who transfers you to the Sabi Sands Game Reserve and to Elephant Plains Game Lodge where you stay in the Honeymoon Suite for the next three nights.
This family owned lodge accommodates a maximum of 24 guests, which ensures personal
service and a warm, friendly atmosphere. The lodge is situated on the dry Manyeleti riverbed and overlooks a permanent waterhole. The pool deck guarantees an excellent view of a variety of animals, coming from the plains to drink. Elephant Plains is situated in the 65, 000 hectare
Sabi Sand Wildtuin, which forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park, a huge 2.2 million hectare park, where animals roam
freely with no fences.
The Sabi Sand Wildtuin was set up
in the 1950's by a group of private
landowners who dropped the fences between their properties in order to create a larger area for the animals to move around in. The reserve is named after its two main
rivers, the Sabi and Sand Rivers, which both flow to the south of Elephant Plains.
The property of Elephant Plains has been in the family since 1962, but has only been run as a commercial lodge since 1998. It is
owned by Dr. Etienne and Margie Swart (Witpoort Familie Trust), and managed by their son and his wife, Etienne & Marlet.

thousands of acres of pristine wilderness in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, adjacent to the Kruger National Park. With a handful of visitors and a limited number of game-viewing vehicles, and no fences between the Kruger Park and Timbavati, the words 'private', ‘secluded' and 'tranquil' best describe the Tanda Tula experience. Early-morning and evening safaris are
conducted in open Land rovers, and daily walks are offered with professional rangers and trackers. Twelve luxuriously thatched East-African Tented suites, all with en-suite bathrooms, outdoor showers and private decks are situated on the banks of the Nhralumi River. The lounge and swimming pool overlook a waterhole where animals come to drink throughout the day and night. Dinners are served around log fires in a traditional open-air boma, and Tanda Tula's
excellent cuisine is assured to enhance your bush experience. Those seeking exclusivity and total privacy may be interested in Tandala, a thatched suite with
