Tuscany Italy Wine Country with Dinner - Tuscany
This program departs Florence aprox 2:15pm and returns to Florence aprox. 10:45pm
Wine
Travel from Florence aboard your air-conditioned European coach from Florence to the heart of the
most famous wine making region of Tuscany;
Chianti.
The Chianti area is not only famous for its
famous wine but for its landscapes and vineyards, olive trees and amazing cypress trees that line the roads, surround churches, parishes and castles throughout the countryside.
You will travel to one of the many castles in the area for a visit to the cellars of the famous wine Chianti Classico.
You will have a light snack with a
selection of fine wines. The tour continues on to the town of Grevi in Chianti for a stop in the historic square. The town
featured art galleries and shops selling typical products of the Chianti area.
Continue on to Castellina in Chianti and very characteristic ancient hamlet high upon a hill and nestled between vineyards and olive groves. Free time to visit the town.
In the evening you will travel to San Donato in Poggio an ancient settlement in a fortified castle dating back to the 11th century.
In a local tavern you will experience a magical atmosphere of this small village and be served a local Chianti dinner with local dishes and excellent Chianti wine. Return to Florence.
